So I was fixing a car recently for the first time. I mean I tried. I used a jack to lift the car and I got underneath. Na it's not an irrational fear. I'm a maintainance tech and safety is key. Just go t auto zone and get a pair of jack stands use e brake and chucks and lower it onto the jackstands at the lift points. Give the car a good push and shake to make sure it's stable and you're good to go, crawl under there all you need the jack jack stands and hucksters will keep the car up.
