Aside from removing some incentive to explore the final tier raid, it also added to a problem introduced in BC and expanded in Wrath
While it was nice to get new dungeons with better gear, so you didn't have to do old raids, doing old raids gave you SO MUCH MORE content because everything remained current content.
Also, Cata lacked anything outside of raids to do. Earlier games had fairly extensive end game content, at least to begin with. It wasn't all good but it was something.

Hellground has pretty alright scripting for quests, the only thing I found was that mobs aggro other nearby mobs easily and can't catch up to you if you're on a mount and can't dismount you easily.
