I used to be harsh like that and I found it killed the mood for everyone and especially for the person you come down upon, and eventually people stopped wanting to come to my apartment for events. Now if something happens like this I'll pull the person in question to the side and respectfully explain what he did wrong and ask him not to repeat. People respond well to positivity and it doesn't kill the mood. Also, helps with my anger problems.
