hey /b/ros i am building a new pc what's your opinion.
> GTX 1060 6GB
> G.Skill Ripjaws V 8GB (3200Mhz):
> MSI Z370-A PRO
> EVGA 500W
> WD BLUE 1TB
I'd suggest getting reasonable i5 instead of i3.
Also double your ram - go for 16.
Finally, go for SSD (256 gb should do) for OS and 2TB for games/movies/rest of the stuff
memory is one of the few things you can easily upgrade (and add on to) down the line. no need to start maxed out.
it's better to spend more now on components that are pretty much static for the life of the machine (eg cpu)
My old gaming PC with OS on SSD fully boots up and is ready to go in 16 seconds, including all of the background apps - torrent, steam etc. also the web browsing is slightly smoother as well. It is so frustrating nowadays when I havo to work on nonSSD systems...
1TB coz you wont be needing to store all the movies and stuff coz you just watch the movie and delete it, or wither stream it.
Unless he's planning some serious stuff hoarding there wont be any need for more than that
Ryzen 5 is a true quad-core, and each single core is dual-core, giving you a virtual octa-core processor.
It's pretty badass. Got it paired with a RX570 and it can run VR games.
start with an SSD as your primary drive, buy an HDD down the line when things start to get cramped.
start with 8gb of memory but make sure you've got empty slots for more in the future.
no need to complete your PC in one fell swoop
