Let's get back to the argument you used earlier that 'social norms are there so people can live without going too much on each others nerves'.
Yet, if you look at the case at hand (Esdeath touching some girl) this claim fails to make sense. If she was not taught to feel awkward when touched by others, she would not behave in such a way, or might enjoy it. In many other societies the norms are vastly different and being touchy-feely with your peers is not being seen as a problem at all.
