Golems can be made from a whole host of items and typically have a core object, item or part that acts as a metabolic core, or a sort of powering unit, how smart / powerful a golem is depends on how good the magic is that was used to summon / create it.
Golem dolls are dolls who are given life through magic, usually due to their small size, they're able to be relatively intelligent though lack in power obviously.
