s5 in my opinion you can buy it for $80-$100 off craigs list or whatever online site you use. Even cheaper if you live in the US 16 megapixel camera is still pretty good for today's standards. Can remove the battery and add 128 gig memory card. And charges full in 5 minutes has usb 3.0 and charge lasts 2 days usually best phone overall in terms of price in my opinion. I've had my Galaxy s6 edge + for a while now and I like it a lot. Gold glass back, I've dropped it quite a few times from distances that should've shattered it, but I have no cracks except on the sides, that's with no case on the whole time too. The camera is pretty good, and I love customization so android was the system to shoot for. Nowadays it shouldn't be super expensive like the new phones are.

I would advise against anything Samsung.
While the phones are nice when they work, it'll be hell if ANYTHING goes wrong. Samsung has some of the WORST customer support, their own management team doesn't have any authority over repair centers (all repair centers are autonomous third parties), the repair centers are notorious for breaking shit worse than saying "it came in like that", and the customer support line has roughly 2 hour holds.
Not to mention the phones crack, break, and shatter easily. The battery supposedly lasts 3 days but I've seen it last anywhere from 2.5 days to 2.5 hours -- even when not in use. I had a solid week that my S8 was burning battery and had to be recharged 3 times a day. During this time I would go into the battery menu in settings to see what was draining it and literally NOTHING was listed there. It would be like "You have 11% battery remaining. Your screen used 3%, YouTube used 1%, and everything else used 0%" -- what the FUCK used the other 86%?
I've also heard of Samsung phones having constant crashes, my phone sometimes won't get text messages until 7 hours after they were sent, apps will become unresponsive, etc
I recommend either a Pixel, or an iPhone. Samsung is utter shit.
I'm very happy with my Pixel 2. It's my first non iPhone smartphone and I'm quite happy. Price is right too. I never update my phones when a new model comes out, I typically keep my phone until it shits out on me so I won't be getting the Pixel 3 unless my 2 breaks but I recommend it highly.

iPhone is overpriced, they intentionally lock you out of features, and if you let it auto-update then you're going to get cucked when they slow your phone down on purpose. It also has over-priced chargers and proprietary everything.
That said, I've heard WAY fewer complaints about broken or nonfunctional phones from iPhone users. The Google pixel 2 is pretty great my opinion.
The LG V30. Think of it as a less expensive Pixel with nearly all the qualities of it. Generally Smooth in day to day tasks, battery life is good, still has a headphone jack with quad dac for sound, expandable storage, wireless charging, and light in the hand as well.
