Different anon here; I can attest that the Kinder Joy eggs are inferior, and I feel frustrated that people are going to fall for them being the original Kinder egg, which has higher quality chocolate AND toys. I have bought several of the Kinder Joys here in the US as a bonding experience among my friends and coworkers, and most of them have heard my rant about how Kinder Surprise is superior. But to be honest, I was surprised just HOW much better the Kinder Surprise toys are; it’s like they’re not even made by the same company.

Kinder Surprise eggs are not legal to sell in the US. There is a several thousand-dollar fine PER EGG for mailing them here if you get caught. Not sure if they are banned to carry on your person, assuming you have no intent to sell them. (That’s what it boils down to, you are not allowed to sell them, or enable them to be sold, in the US.)

Back in the 90's and early 2000 the toys found in kinder surprise were even better. These days you might find a 5 piece toy you need to assemble inside, but back in the day the toys were more complex and were actually more than just an ornament. Guess kids are getting dumber worldwide.
