Does anyone know what the orange symbol means? I don't think i've ever seen it lit. What should i do now? There are no stations nearby
>>769042535
There's a fault with your engine. Get it checked out.
lambda sensor broken
carry on
>>769042535
the 'check engine' light. it could mean lots of things.
on some cars, even forgetting to put your gas cap back on can trigger it, due to the pressure in the tank.
you can go to any auto parts place, and they should be able to connect a diagnostic device to give you the code it's reporting, and can tell you what it means.
110 km/h and 3k revs? Lmao nice 5gang
Thank you. What would be the safest thing to do now if i'm not going to be able to get it checked for a while?
>>769042535
Check the flux capacitor
>>769042535
You’ve probably been driving your shitbox Audi at 110mph for too long and you’ve blown a head gasket. You have almost 80,000 miles on your car. Get your engine checked, faggot
>>769042714
Depends, it could be something minor or something that could completely fuck your engine as >>769042670
stated. You won't know until you get it checked if you know fuckall about cars.
If you absolutely need to drive it, you're gonna have to take a gamble. If you have alternate transportation, I'd recommend that.
>>769042535
Looks like the bop-it light to me. Quick, bop the horn or something.
>>769042874
>>769042714
Also most auto parts stores will diagnose the problem for free and you can get estimates on how much it will be to fix, takes about 2 minutes outside the store.
>>769042535
You can't generate 1.21 jigawatts.
>>769042535
Make sure your engine is still there. If it is, check it off the list. Engine-checked.
>>769042874
Guess im gambling then. Its starting to rain. Thank you all, i hope i can make it.
>>769042874
If its not flashing you are fine. Dont let this guy scare you
>>769042855
mph/kph - learn to difference y'fucking tit.
>>769042535
That means your engine is in track mode!
>>769043141
Well, sure, if you want to be as broad as possible about it. Of course not every time it comes on it's a warning it's going to explode, but to say that "it's fine" without being able to even see what kind of vehicle it is is as ignorant as it gets.
>>769042855
110 mph and 3k rpm would be impressive.
>>769043298
Pretty much this. We had a peugeot 306 from new and once the warranty ran out the lambda sensor failed on an annual basis, every time that fucking light came on we knew we'd have to spend another £350 getting the fucker fixed agin
You can drive with that light on, but it's telling you something's amiss, so ignoring it probably isn;t for the best. It's like taking morphine for kidney pain. The pain might be gone, but the problem's still there, and it's getting worse
>>769043560
>something's amiss
My word!
>>769042535
check the fucking owners manual
you're asking advice on /b/
you go get your medical advice from McDonalds?
Take you 2 minutes you lazy sack of shit.
>>769043768
Might be a second hand car, and OP isn;t familiar with that symbol. Stop being such an arse
>>769042706
I get 4k at highway speed of 120km/h
Just watching the gas drain.
>>769042535
You've unlocked the fucked engine achievement
dashboard is broken, the light shouldnt be on. probably a short or something. punch the dash and it should turn off.
>>769042706
23mph/1000 or 37kmh/1000 - not completely unrealistic gearing.
So what did you mean by your post, you mechanical ignoramus?
>>769044058
This post is too stupid to even analyse
>>769043900
I'd probably drop down to 100 km/h tbh.
I get 100kmh@2000rpm, 120kmh@3000rpm (6th gear). Changing to a diesel 6th gear would be 500rpm less, but then 6th gear wouldn't be only good for cruising, going for top speed would be abysmally slow.
>>769044147
I mean that his gearing is shit. Looks like it's actually 105kmh at 3000 rpm.
>>769044304
Well it's hardly his gearing, numpty; the auto maker chose it for a reason Perhaps it was taken in 3rd? Either way, your post was fucking stupid - I'd stick to loli and cock-rate threads and leave threads with anything mechanical to the big boys.
>>769042535
go drive it off a ditch it no longer works
>>769044225
I was being a little silly there. If the dash isnt broken and its not a false positive then the problem is probably serious and expensive.
for example I got a check oil light on my car. there was nothing wrong with theengine at all, the connector the the pressure sensor broke off. checking the easy/cheap fixes first is common practice.
>>769044530
>Back-peddling, the post.
Now fuck off, child. If he'd have believed you he could grenade his engine.
>>769044674
Dashboards brake sometimes. With no other information to go on its a guess. Also If OP actually follows any of the advice in this thread he deserves a wrecked engine.
>>769042535
OP, have you done basic checks, like oil level, water level, etc? It could be low fluid or low oil pressure or running too hot.
>>769042535
>kmh
Eurocuck detected. Enjoy your refugees.
>>769045074
>Dashboards brake sometimes
Well, for a start-off; it's "break", not "brake". And you always eliminate the potential issues a sensor could be indicating before you decide that the sensor may be wrong. Whichever way you look at it, you're continuing to demonstrate a level of stupidity that puts you roughly on par with a chimpanzee. I'd stop posting now, if I were you.
>>769045325
he could be a canadian
or y'know, anywhere except the USA & england
>>769045325
They use kmh virtually everywhere in the world, except UK and USA. He could be Australian. Or Japanese. However you're obviously American.
>>769045347
Your getting ahead of yourself here, OPs check seatbelt light is on and i was helping him diagnose his problem. Its got nothing to do with the sensors themselves, just the dash.
>>769045597
>Its got nothing to do with the sensors themselves
orly? What would the dash display if an oil pressure sensor went open circuit?
The dash lights are activated by various sensors and the software in the main engine ECU interpreting the signals they send.
There is no mention of seatbelt warning ITT except your post, and there is no seatbelt warning in OP's picture. You're just a dumb fuck and I'm done with you.
Also, it's "you're", as it's a contraction of "you are". And no, you didn't just bait me - you're too stupid
>>769044494
why would he drive 105kmh in 3rd gear?
>>769042855
Its a Seat, propably a Ibiza.
>>769046056
Depends on gearing and if he was about to change up. Or it could be 4th on a 5-speed. Or a small engine with shallow gearing to make up for the lack of torque.
>>769042535
it just means that your engine is running. it goes off when you turn the engine off
>>769046151
I doubt he would be inbetween gear switches if he's taking a photo. And you just said what I basically meant by "nice 5 speed".
>>769046413
>And you just said what I basically meant by "nice 5 speed".
Where exactly did you say "nice 5 speed"? CTRL+F doesn't find any others.
>>769046517
Try "5gang".
>>769046413
Perhaps the light only comes on at or above that RPM
>>769043078
Yeah good luck dude. It could be a spark plug for $2 or the transmission for more than the value of the car. You won't know. I suggest you take it to a place that will let you see the diagnostic code itself. Not a mechanic who will lie to your face.
>>769046641
>5gang
I think you mean "9gag", which is where you belong
>>769042535
