This was my favorite little kitty in the world. She almost made 20 years, waited for me on the garden wall everyday when I walked home from school, would sit on the windowsill and slow-blink me on the night before exams to calm me down. She was my patient little shadow who kept me sane.
Sounds gay but I dream sometimes that her little paws are kneading my back in my sleep, I love her so much, I wish I could have been with her during her final hours.

Get your cat a cat. I did, if you get a kitten the older cat usually forms a bond with it. Just be sure to give your original cat lots of attention so it doesn't foster any anger at being left out. If you love your cat as much as it seems that shouldn't be a problem though, and there are always kitties needing loving owners/servants. Think about it at least.
