Shop lifting thread
I usually just put small things I need in my pocket sometimes it’s just as small as chapstick but sometimes 128gb flash drive or in my coat like a nice retractable leash
Probably has saved 1000s
Never sell the stuff just like the rush only do it in ways I could never get caught

Give it back Jamal.
>>768998335
Good because I was about to ask how the hell you shoplifted that. I usually only shoplift dvds and stuff I can fit under my jacket. And I also make sure to buy something really fucking cheap so it doesn't look like I'm walking out with nothing.
Although tbh if I had a couple people helping me I could probably shoplift one of those big ass tvs. It'd be a fucking challenge but I could do it.
if your going to steal a tv at least make it one worth stealing, like a samsung curve, you did someone a favor saving them from buying that shit $3000 tv.
>>768999597
Ok so I work nights and I’m thinking of taking one of those styrofoam 99cent tags over the tv I want and go in on my lunch brake and just “buying” a tv real quick with a 5$ gift card that I bought with cash
Could pick the tv I want and just keep the tag in my pocket when I walk in and just walk out with a tv and a receipt.
They have like no staff at 3am
If you have pets... Petco doesn't have cameras. The stores are too cheap for security cameras, mostly.
Sometimes the grooming areas have cameras but the retail store generally no. Have at it boys. Get free pet supplies
>>769000004
I do that with my god on a short leash and I have a German Shepherd that barks at people when they get close so I’m good there
I remember being in Wal Mart with my friend and he stole a DVD while we were walking around and I didn't notice. As we were walking out, a security guard came up to him and told him to come with him. I had no idea what happened but he came out about 10 minutes later and told me about it. What's ironic is the movie he stole was Takers. Good times.
>>768997144
Stole a $150 glass bong from the bong shop and broke it a week later
>>768999977
Well, if you work at the fucking place, especially on graveyard shift, then that makes things incredibly easy. I just hope you don't need your job, because if you fuck up you could lose it.
>>769000387
I don’t work at Walmart I work night shift at a place next to Walmart
>>768999977
Where do you live that there is a Walmart open at 3 am with barely any staff inside? I want to go too.
>>769000578
Walmart is open 24/7
>>769000110
>my god on a short leash
>>769000387
I’m just worried about them finding out who I am cuz I could definitely get out the door if it looks like I just paid for the tv ( with the untraceable gift card)
>>769000613
The ones nearest to me close at 10 pm every day.
I work overnights at a walmart. People lift shit all the time and I think it's hilarious. Associates aren't allowed to stop it or even accuse anyone of doing it, so when I see it I just smile and nod. And to avoid a coaching, I do tell an ASM or Co.
One night we had a woman come in and fill her cart with groceries. Wasn't in a rush, just seemed like normal food shopping for the week. Then when she was done, she just wheeled the cart out the door, no fucks given. I stood there and laughed. I called an ASM, but I still got coached because I was laughing in front of other customers and setting a "bad example" for Walmart associates. Suck my dick Sam Walton.
>>769000578
anywhere in the u.s.
>>769000813
Where???
>>769000686
Dude.. lift when it is busy AF. It depends on how you look but you can get away with everything if you act you paid for it. Just walk out of the store no one stops you. Cus every worker is busy.
>>769000613
Not all of them, especially not in major cities like mine
>>769000645

>>768997144
show me the proof that you have no receipt. otherwise you just bought it and posted the pic.
>>769000871
apparently everywhere except where you live.
>>769000923
At my Walmart, there is always an associate at the exit who checks every customer for receipts. Not that easy. Still doable, but it is not simply just act like you bought it anymore.
>>769000578
Any supercenter anywhere.
>>769001021
Is that how it works in the US? Kek. In EU we dont have that. We got alarm ports just rip off the barcode and you can walk out.
>>769001045
This has to be bullshit. As per my screens hot above, the supercenter nearest me closes at 10. And the two others near me also close at 10.
>>769000986
Reverse google search the pic I didn’t buy it or steal it I’m just throwing out an idea
Get jobs, degenerates
>>769001021
You're not obligated or legally required to give that person your receipt.
>>769001138
I live in a lower income area so this may be different in Walmart in middle or higher income areas. Might be a necessary line of defense in an area where shoplifting is more likely to happen.
Do the alarms go off if you walk through with a ty even if you purchased it?
>>769001342
I've tried walking out without the receipt before. They start yelling at you. And if they don't, then it's possible some goody two shoes faggot will tell them. And if they start yelling then a lot of eyes and suspicion will be on you which is the last thing you want when you're fucking shoplifting.
>>769001342
Why
This sounds made up
>>769001021
you can still just walk out. they aren't allowed to touch you. they'll get your picture from the camera's though, maybe your plates too if you park in a bad spot. however, they usually just add whatever info they have on you into a binder and if you do it again, that's when they forward it to police.
>>769001494
wrong worked loss prevention grabbed people all the time
>>769001494
Well better stack up a full shoppingcart with everything you can get, cus this sounds like a one shot.
>>769001612
LP can, not a regular associate, not where i work
>>768997144
I used to shoplift those six packs of full size chocolate bars you find at Walmart and sell them at the high school to the freshman and Sophomores at lunch. It was easy as fuck to get away with too, they only put cameras up at the electronics, pharmacy and where they had the baby formula at. I would grab 6-7 of those packs, head to hardware, stuff them in my Carhartt jacket and walk out the door. I kinda miss doing that now, gave me a rush and it payed for my beer and gas.
>>769001482
Because you own the product at that point, and your simply taking items that own out of a store. Also, there is no requirement for you to keep your receipt, it's perfectly legal to throw it away or not accept it. The only place where you have to give a receipt are club stores like Sams where part of the members contract is that you agree to let them inspect your receipt before leaving, though the worst that they can do is revoke your membership without refund.
>>769001675
thats true but if your obviousness enough they call lp and all management has the capability as well
>>769001470
I never give my receipt at Walmart. I've literally told the 70 year old greater at my Walmart to fuck off after asking to see my receipt, he didn't do shit because he can't do shit.
They have super good cameras at face level at Walmart at the self checkouts could they find me if I did the barcode switch?
>>769001414
It shouldn't unless they forget to remove the anti theft device
>>769002040
Are there anti theft sevices on large tvs
>>769001891
And you've continued going to the same exact Walmart? Also, i don't have that luxury. The greeter at my Walmart is some loud Hispanic bitch. She will scream at me if I show her nothing, so I end up buying a lollipop for like fifty cents with some shit under my jacket just so I have something to show her and she doesnt get on my case.
>>768997144
You're lucky you shoplifted it, paying for a vizio product should be a crime in itself. Pure chinese garbage. Do yourself a favor and get another one of the display thingies in the back of the TV To replace it when it burns out, because it fucking WILL.
>>769002226
Yeah, again you're not obligated to show them shit. The minute that you pay for your product you own it. I consider it an unlawful violation of my civil liberties. Walmart employees have no legal base to search or detain me unless they have proof that I have committed a crime.
>>769000871
Redding, CA. Get up there now. You'll have to deal with all the tweakers and the bums outside though.
>>769002137
Generally most large expensive electronics will have a device with wires that wrap around the box. Unless it came from the back stock room, the box will have the device attached to it. Pic related
>>769001021
Walmart usually has a chain-link gate somewhere in the garden center. Just go out that. Buddy stole a lawnmower and a 36" tube TV that way.
Not me doing it but
>Go to walmart with friend
>go to checkout areas to the side where they have magic cards
>pick some up to buy
>see friend stuffing his coat with cards he pulled from the packs
>watch him walk out again and no one checks him or stops him
I just had no words haha
>>769002504
I don't feel like flying from Boston to LA just to shoplift, but thanks. I can find plenty of low income shit holes around here to steal from.
>>769002564

>>769002631

>>769002564
it's called a spider wrap. Get a magnet, apply it to above the two notches at the edge and push the grooved piece on the side - it will pop open.
>>769002564
And you can usually pull those off the box if you scrunch it a little. Once got busted at Best Buy because we were stealing those alarm things.
>>769002660
yes, they will link two or more together if they have to.
>>769002395
But... You're not paying for it. This is a shoplifting thread...
>>769000334
Good thing you didn't pay for it then
>>769003001
what anon is saying is that they can't treat you as a shoplifter just because you don't show a receipt. no receipt ≠ stolen (even though in this case, you are stealing)
>>769002816
Yeah they're not that hard to pull, but retards will try to cut the wire and trip the alarm on it. Seen it happen before
>>769002784
I didn't know what they were called, thanks
>>769003001
Admittedly I am rather high at the moment so I might not be making sense. In any case, regardless if you bought or stole a product you're not obligated or legally required to produce a receipt for some loser 70 year old Walmart greeter. If they have proof that you sole something they can detain you, otherwise they have no right to stop you.
Pro tips
>put little things inside big things
>throw it in the store's garbage, get it from the dumpster later
>bag the thing in front of a manager & tell him you want to show him something outside...manager escorted discount
>buy something; go back with receipt; get another one & return it for cash
>etc
>etc

>>769004235

>>769004423
If you're really poor, just look for receipts in the parking lot for stuff to return; carry something it could've fit inside when you go back in...for the cameras
>>769004423
Pocket stuff in the back storeroom...no cameras
>>769004423

>>769000686
Walmart gift cards are traceable you dumbshit. By the card number they see where it was last loaded, check the cameras, bam you're caught. I work AP at a Walmart, we do this shit all the time. Pay cash park far, dress with things that'll cover your facial features, and you're good. Just be okay with carrying the bitch far away.
Stealing is nearly pointless nowadays when you can basically pirate anything you want. Not worth the risk to be jailed unless you're starving.
Why don't you produce something instead of being a parasite on society?

lol when I was 17, I lifted 2, yes, 2 GTX 970's, back when they were newish. Also walked out with a full Corsair K70 RGB mechanical keyboard in my waistband. All from a retarded Bestbuy that had a camera blindspot right in the PC parts section. The GPUs were spiderwraped, but I literally just cut the box at its corners and slipped the spiderwrap off. gg ez
Has anyone been caught shoplifting?
If so, what happened? How did you handle it?
Any advice in case anyone else ever gets

As a retail worker. Once you're caught, you're caught. Cops will be called and the cops do like to take their time.
One day I got paid 8 hours just to sit in the security office until the pope showed up, kid was 16, didn't want to give his name so they just let him wait.....and wait......and wait until the cops popped on by.
It was peaceful
>>769007029
Depends on how kind they are. Most of the time police come. But some also let you go but give you a year ban.

you got a video of this?
>>769007306
Don't get me wrong, I don't give a flying fuck if you steal, I still get paid regardless. I just wish people wouldn't try to flush the packages down the toilet, sewers have traps and that shit blocks up real quick. Just leave the packaging on a shelf so I can write it off and NOT have to smell 5,000 random peoples shit mixed together.

I hit that Bestbuy a couple more times, but made a dumb mistake by picking up an item from a section that didn't have a blindspot, bringing it to my blindspot and lifting it. They were probably a bit suspicious of me since I'd been reckless before lifting from there. Anyways, they stop me at the door and tell me to lift my shirt up, I had no real choice so I do. They tell me to just wait there at the door for the cops to come. I considered making a run for it through the door but the security guard put himself between me and the door. A single cop comes like 10 min later, and he brings me outside. Asks me if I have anything else I stole in my car or on me (yes and yes, it was a bad phase of my life but I made decent money), I tell him no and he doesn't question it. He ends up taking me outside and lecturing me on how he was a dumb kid once too and stole some stuff, made me finally realize I should probably stop doing it so I got a slap on the wrist. To this day I've not shoplifted since.
>>769007554

>>769007306
I know a lot of places will try to strong arm anyone
caught stealing to sign a type of confession paper with the promise that they won't call the
police if you do. I've seen them do this with
kids very often.
Worked in retail a long time, I remember some guy stealing 4 tvs before he got caught trying to take a 5th. All in the same day
>>768999977

One time I got caught stealing adult diapers because I'm degenerate diaper fag. Two employees walked out after me and tried to stop me. Gave them the diapers back. They wanted me to come back inside store. I said "If you try and make me I will get violent." They said don't ever come back here again. I never stole again and go to that store all the time.
Big risk small reward. Only retards shoplift. Enjoy the record for trying to steal USB stick, cosmetics clothes or food. Atleast if u do crime do smth profitable not shit like that
>>769007306
That's illegal as fuck. If the kid was smart he would've demanded his phone call and sued your store. Especially if you held him 30 mins or more
>>768999977
They'll notice it cuz you need to scan the serial number too...
>source, I used to work at target as a cashier
>>769008175
How is it illegal? Illegal to let ppl like that get away. Just because the cops were busy and couldnt be arsed to deal with a shoplifter way bigger priorities dont make it illegal :D
>>769008175
Nope, sooooo many loopholes you can exploit.
>>769007704
Our store will always call the cops if no one responds to a page of us calling whom ever they were with if they actually give a name.
It's easier to just do that instead of wasting the cops time. But some don't like talking, and or claiming racial profiling lol
>>769008321
the store doesn't have the right to hold somebody like that for hours, especially a possible minor. only the police have that authority. that could've been a lawsuit or get out of jail free card. at least in murica.
>>769008321
If you're not police you can't arrest people. Observe and report, that's it.
>>769008196
Prove it faggot
>>769008321
You held the fucking kid for 8 hours without informing his parents/guardian retard. How goddamn ignorant is your store? The cops would've made shit worse in that situation.
>>769008812
That has to be a troll post. What he did is literally kidnapping.
>>769008777
Oh how wrong you are lol. Maybe in you're shitty state. But LPOs are allowed to detain people as long as there's clear evidence. They normally don't cuff them but there is pole against the wall they use to deal with the crazies.
>>769008777
In most states, as long as you try to conceal something/obviously shoplift they are allowed to custodial hold you until police arrive. Especially if the item is over $200. BUT the only saving grace in that, if you do make it out of the store, it is their store policy to not follow you past the doors - because their employees would not be covered being injured at work if they were not on the store property...
and yeah, you definitely can't hold a minor for that amount of time.
>>769008780
You idiot I said I used to work there. Go home pussy
>>769009012
Nope. Cops knew where he was, no one responded to the page, didn't give us contact info to call his home.
They gave him all the chances, he's the one that fucked up.

>>769009073
Stfu bitch. You lucky you aont working at target anymore
>>768997144
when I was homeless I got back into shoplifting...
>Go to grocer where mostly teens are cashiers
>Go during busy time
>Get 2 boxes of wine
>Act like I'm in an argument on the phone
>Walk right out the front door
Dumb idea now that I think about it, but I was never caught and did it 25+ times. Same with food items.
I got bold and started doing it in liquor stores, was only caught once and they acknowledged I was in the wrong, just said I was flustered over the phone call.
ITT: Niggers
>>769009172
The kid should've kept on walking. If ANYONE touched him, that would be grounds for assault, not to mention illegal detainment. I've heard ghost stories around campfires about how shoplifters are detained, and I assure you if that were to happen, it would be high time to contact a lawyer for a civil suit.
>>769005019
This is one of the oldest tricks in the book.
People also used to do this with PS2 games too. You could open the top of the package without tearing the wrapper, squeeze the case so it popped open slightly and fish the disc off the insert. Then seal the wrapper back up and return it the next day
Loss prevention had fun with that shit, it was pretty clever.
>>769009012
Yeah that's why I said it no trollolo though, after 8 hours the kid could have said ANYTHING to fuck off that anon. We use a "get the fuck outta here and don't come back cause we'll be watching for you" approach with shoplifting minors. Fear and embarrassment (when their caught amongst their friends) works wonders.

>>769009753
illegal detainment is not a criminal justice term, unless they use that in the UK or some shit. There is kidnapping and and false imprisonment. Unlawful detainer is somebody who holds another person's property without returning it legally.
In the country where I live you may never be seen again if you get arrested. Great deterrent!

Loss prevention caught some kid at the store I worked at 15 years ago with a speaker magnet stuck to one. The only reason he got caught was he had stole several TVs within a week and they were keeping an eye out for him because he was way too retarded to keep his face concealed
>>768997144
I also used to break into houses and open cars, but this was circa 1999-2003
>Wait for holiday weekend
>Go out find a home with some main lights on
>Walk around the house
>Look for any signs of life
>Ring doorbell, run, watch
>Ring doorbell twice, run, watch
>Bang on door, run, watch
>Find open window
>Cut screen
>Enter house
>Had 1 person to help and 1 person to lookout
>Even though I did most of the breaking in we split it evenly
>Most we all ever made from one house was $800 each
>>769010818
Oof, that makes me remember the dildo house...
>Do same thing on holiday weekend
>3 of us again
>Don't even have to break in, he left a side garage door open
>Go through house stealing juvenile shit
>DVDs, liquor, etc
>Go into computer room
>Open bottom cabinet
>wtf.jpg
>See huge grocery bag of what looks like dicks
>Actual dicks
>It's filled with buttplugs that would tear a normal anus
>Doubled headed dildos
>Clothespins
>Under the bag was hand-drawn alien gay porn
>Call everyone into the master bedroom
>Dump bag out
>Instead of stealing more we hide the sex toys
>Some in obvious places
>Buttplug in fridge
>Dildo under bed
>Some I guarantee are still there today
>There some in a crawl space
>Unscrewed vents and threw them in there
>I was the only one who kind of paid attention to the people we were robbing
>He had pictures of his kids, but no wife
>2 nearly empty bedrooms for whenever he would get to visit with them
>Hid dildos in their rooms.
