People seem not to realize or want to accept that around the beginning of puberty or just shortly within it's beginning is when you naturally begin to become attracted to other humans as for the longest time our lives were much shorter than they are now and so we had to reproduce earlier. It's all society and the culture being ingrained into people's moral outlooks that makes them now think that early teens are incapable of thinking and engaging in those acts of pleasure like everyone else. It's purely a bias on the behalf of 'morally upstanding citizens.' In all reality being attracted to those who have already hit puberty is totally natural and is generally just a repressed desire by people who are scared to death of being ostracized and punished as a sex offender. I don't think that a sexual attraction to prepubescents is healthy or productive but the thorough stigmatization of an attraction to pubescents is a recently made up sense of righteousness that was originally put in place to make a certain group of people feel good about themselves. The age of consent was generally 14 only 100 years ago. I understand the want to protect kids but "pedophiles" are vastly overly criminalized due to the actions of a few psychos who sexually abuse children now that it is illegal because they already think they're evil for having that attraction and are weak or mentally unstable anyway. There are better ways to protect kids without destroying the lives of even people who just got done being a kid themselves but still were attracted to people younger than them. Things like statutory rape are ridiculous as they imply a much higher level of guilt than many people charged with the crime really deserve. I don't really ever expect any of these laws to get any better though because most people are blinded severely by heavy cultural indoctrination and the severe stigma around such things that has only existed for a relatively short amount of time.
