If it's not a team I'm familiar with I check their previous scores, shots on target and when the goals were scored.
I then make my decision based on this.
Eg if a team is 2-0 down but they've won their past few games by 1 or more goals then I check if those goals where scored in the second half. If they scored 2 in the second half then I don't bet on them.
With the amount of matches played on any given day you can always find a team that just cannot score when their players are tired.
