Not really. Gravity is a law (As we can directly observe it happening). How it works is all theory. Pretty much all of Science uses theory to give exclamations to laws, and there can be many of them.
Evolution can't be law yet because we haven't seen one species split into an entirely new one, and won't for a long time. And even when we do, only the process of evolution is law, everything else revolving around how it happens remains theory.

Not to try to start some kind of argument because its a trivial thing to argue over, but I personally think the theory of evolution should just be called the theory of adaptation. It would be an easier term for everyone to understand and agree with. We can all agree that species adapt to their environment. We've observed ourselves doing it. The word evolution seems to imply in some people's minds that organisms gain special powers or turn into some completely different species. Since we can't really provide evidence of a certain species changing in such a drastic way, it would be more agreeable to just say we all have the ability to adapt as our environment dictates.
