Like when we got our first rookies a few years back we asked em how they think about spending their first night in the tent, most were hyped and though "not a problem". But after 15kms of marching, out of which 5km were in dick deep snow, putting the tent up, then moving it 5 times in a row(you need to dig a spot for the tent, 50cm of snow from a large area), and finally when they thought they could go to sleep, they had to dig potholes into the snow and frozen ground(this took them 3 hours lol). after that it had been like 28-30 hours since they woke up, they could sleep for 3 hours except we yelled alarm alarm alarm trice during that time, and if you didnt get out of the tent when we yelled alarm, the entire tent had to be moved by 200 meters(lol one squad had to do this).
our platoon had about 40 people when we went out "camping" in the -32 celcius, after we got back to barracks 4 people quit outright and it had only been 2 weeks into the army.
