There are a lot of lower-middle class WASP, Chinese, Indian, Jewish families who actually have the same educational and personal accountability values as wealthier people and, as a result, their kids become wealthy. Africans (sans-Nigeria, Nigerians do better than any other black people because they have aforementioned cultural values) and Hispanics, for the most part, don't really have these values.

Being proud of being Caucasian makes little sense. Culture is a far deeper influence than race, and being proud of being part of a specific culture does make a little more sense. However what culture? I'm Australian, and there is not a great deal to find pride in being a white Aussie. We were bought over here and forced to work, and are regarded as owned property, with handlers, and we are divided. Gone are the days of Tribes. We try to imitate tribal culture, but the defining characteristic of modern tribal groups is how we stand out from everyone else, rather than how we lead the way for everyone else, and its a childish game.
