I loved that the bad guy won, but I assume that there will be some lazy twist like they didn't all actually die and instead went to another dimension.
Considering they're still making movies for all the major characters that died it makes sense. So the next movie will probably be about getting them back after someone discovers the big secret.

I think they tried way too hard to humanize Thanos. He is a genocidal maniac, his idea to impose 'balance' by killing half the universe is retarded. What is he going to do it again in 70 years? Because that is about how long it took for humanity to go from 3.5 billion to 7 billion. Did he kill half of all plants and animals too? The greatest mass extinction event in history was caused by fucking algae simply out competing everything and occupying every niche. His methods and motivations are that of a madman, but they bent over backwards trying to make us empathize with him.

Great movie. Didn't expect it to be basically Guardians of the Galaxy 3. The Avengers themselves were barely in it. I can't remember a single line of dialogue for Black Widow.
One problem with Thanos' plan that was instantly obvious to any mathematicians in the audience: the nature of exponential growth. Imagine that you have a jar, in which you place a single bacterium. It takes 100 days for the jar to become half full. How many days does it take for the jar to become completely full?
The answer is just one day. In other words, by killing half the universe, Thanos has not bought much time at all. Case in point: it took humans 80,000 years (measured from our lowest population point following the Sumatra volcanic eruption) to get to 7 billion individuals. If you killed half of us, how long would it take to get back to 7 billion? Would it take 40,000 years? Nope. The answer is less than 40 years.
Thanos would need to kill something like 99% of beings in the universe to make any difference at all. Even then, sustainability comes into the question. Some experts insist that without fossil fuels, which make intensive agriculture possible, the carrying capacity of our planet for human life is no more than 1 billion.

Aside from his father daughter relationship with Demora he wasn't really humanised that much. For me it was the apathetic look on life itself that gave the illusion that he was really a force of greater good.

Infinity War is based off the original comic arc where Thanos gets the gauntlet. If you are so dumb as to think that half of the universe is staying dead then there is no hope for you.
Here's how the rest of the story plays out:
Thanos will realize that he didn't actually want to win because it gives him no purpose (just like in the comics).
Part of his reasoning might be that he regrets killing Gamora (this is heavily implied).
Dr. Strange knew Thanos had to succeed in order to realize he doesn't want to win, hence "it was the only way."
The second movie will involve a complicated battle to defeat Thanos and the get the gauntlet back. It will be implied that Thanos may have let them win (so they can go back to status quo)
Once they have it back, they will restore everyone to life, just like in the comic.

Also, did none of you stupid shits realize that all the original Avengers survived? That's why the final movie is going to be just the OG Avengers (and Rocket). It's all a build up for the NEW Avengers since they are retiring basically all of the current cast.

Thanos was an incredible bad guy and i actually rooted for him, he thought about how to improve the quality of ALL life, he was the reason fighting against the emotions (avengers).
Just think of how emotional the avengers were, they gave in when they saw their loved ones tortured (several times), hulk refused to show up after losing a fight because he was ashamed and none of them even considered what thanos was trying to accomplish as anything else than evil.
I kind of hope they dont make a sequel because it will undenyably be along the lines of "they resurrect everyone and kill thanos happy ending"
It wasn't bad but it's hard to be invested into so many characters if you aren't a super capeshit fan.
Also, there were so many points where the heroes were holding the idiot ball, it was just frustrating to watch. For example, I like Chris Pratt/Starlord, but his actions in the movie were so fucking stupid.
