People forget that after Starcade '97 it was like a lot of the air had been let out of the balloon and WWF was rapidly reorganizing and building it's fan base and pushing the edge creatively. But when Sting joined the Red and Black it was like there was new life in WCW. That Wolfpac stable was fucking hot. It would be around a year before the crowds and ratings started to fall for that organization, but there was a moment. Sting was Mr. WCW.

Goddamn that NWO thing went on way too long. Wolfpac gave it some life, but with the rise of Goldberg and WCW being put back into the title contention, three is a crowd. The organization wasn't big enough for all of them. And the 4 horsemen had a brief run toward then end of '98 too.
