If we cut all welfare except for people with 100% disability (e.g. tetraplegia), the world would be a better place.
Those who work would have more money to spend however they wish.
The leeches would get a chance to get a job. If not, they'd be welcome to off themselves; the society would lose nothing.
The charities that specialise in specific areas (cancer, large families, etc.) would get more support from people who now have more earnings and would still be able to help those that just got unlucky and need a boost.
Why is the world still not libertarian? My heart hurts when I see how many leeches my taxes support. I'd feel better if at least the amount of taxes you pay for leeches would give you the right to punch them in the face every month.
