It's a pretty broad subject, but I like that it roots out how society treats some groups worse than others for totally bullshit reasons, and generally advocates for making things good for everyone.
The downside is that, while a lot of stuff that we do is largely unconscious. Example: we don't deliberately mean to piss off black people when they ask where they come from, but are often aware that they can be asked this quite frequently, and it gets very draining. The "microaggression" is a stupid trivial thing that's easy to mock, but when you're on the receiving end of it day in day out, it just sucks).
Sometimes you've got to challenge people about stuff they don't think about, but some feminists have a knack of doing it in a very smug preachy kind of way that really makes me want to tell them to fuck off, which is a shame because it's probably a decent thing they're trying to put across.
When you explain this stuff in an open and non-condescending or accusatory way, it can make sense and change your mind. Some people are capable of doing it.
The bad ones gang up and make examples of people when they get it wrong, like that's ever going to convince them. A while back I was in a political youth-party, mostly because of one of my friends, but it was interesting at first. At first, there was just a little branch of feminism, with an equal amount of focus on men's rights and such (false rape-charges, child custody, etc.), but after a while the feminism just took over the whole show for some reason. The entire thing became this SJW circle jerk. Like, yes, I know women are dealt a bad hand in some cases, but men are also facing a lot of similar problems.
