I need some advice, anons.
I'm thinking about upgrading from a "fat" ps4 to the pro variant. My biggest concern is that said pro ps4 could be too noisy. My current one is extremely quiet, and I really value immersion in vidya.
So, does the PS4 pro sound like an F-14 taking off with afterburner or is it just fine?

you can here the dvd spin up some times and it depends a lot where you put the console mine is on a shelf in a typical wood tv/dvd/console cabinet which acts like a bass bin so i put the console on a thick mouse mat and hardly hear it, it's certainly not distracting or annoying.

i have god of war on the regular ps4... there doesn't seem to be a need for a pro. if you have the original console already, don't waste the money on the "upgrade." it's the console equivalent of DLC.
don't support half ass upsells from manufacturers. literally buying the same console twice when you could spend the same amount on a pc that performs better than both of them and will last longer.
been playing with my 980ti for a few years now, and i still play AAA games just fine at high frame rates on my 5760x1080 triple screen setup. can't do that on any console.

Already own a fairly decent desktop pc. However, when I got Yakuza 6 for the standard ps4, I realized it was locked at 30 fps. Being a big fan of the franchise and having played Yakuza 0 and Kiwami at a steady 60 fps, this feels a bit disappointing.

Consoles are for convenience and price. You don't have to continuously maintenance a PS4 and then troubleshoot for six hours trying to figure out which part is faulty if things go bad. You also cannot build a decent, long lasting system for less than 600USD. You can build a "gaming quality" PC for less than 400USD, but you'd just end up having to upgrade it within a year to keep it running smoothly with new games.
Besides, the only three games that come to mind that are decent are MMOs (which are starting to receive console support) and any game that supports broken mods.
I've done both and I greatly prefer console gaming over PC.
