I'm 47 years old, OP. Here's just my two cents. When I was 15 I lost my virginity as most teenagers did, I was uncircumcised until I was about 26. I got a weird case of phimosis and couldn't even pull the head back. My sex life actually improved significantly by 27 years of age. Now I'm 47, have a son who is about to get circumcised for that same reason I did. I taught him how to clean himself properly as a young boy, I was hygienic when changing his diapers and bathing him as an infant. And now he's suffering for no reason despite taking every precaution. Father of six year old twin boys here. My wife and I actually had a long discussion of this issue. We seriously considered doing it, both because I'm cut, and I thought it might be strange for them not to look like me, and because she's Jewish, although she's not religious.
We decided not to in the end. With the exception of a likely reduction in susceptibility to HIV, there's no health or hygiene advantage, and if they decide they want to do it later they can. Plus, even if they wind up identifying as Jewish, there are plenty of hippie Jews here where we live in California who have developed alternative ceremonies to replace traditional circumcision.
