The problem with pitbulls is public perception of them.
Because thugs and gangster think pitbulls are aggressive they get pitbulls to reflect what they want the outside world to perceive them as, a threat.
These owners won't generally take care of their dog or understand their dog because they can barely take care of or understand themselves. This is why they will be more aggressive around people like this.
As for the gentle, loving mothers who get pitbulls. They think they are buying a dog for a purpose, to protect them. No doubt you can buy a dog with the intent of protection and everything works out fine in the end but you need to raise it properly and bond with it along the way otherwise the dog will be lonely and not understand it's place.
So these mothers have a kid, buy a dog and think that's all the work they need to do.
They will spend more time with the child than with the dog and nott dedicatetime to the animal because the baby is more important(too right i suppose) but this is obviously where the problems arise. The mothers don't know the mental state of the dog because they aren't paying attention but the dog definitely knows the mental state of the mother because it's not an inanimate object and can smell all the hormones and hear all the different pitchesin her voice.
So maybe the dog is smart enough to realize that the stress is coming from the baby but hasn't been taught out of it's animal instincts to kill the baby because it never had any time dedicated to it.
