I feel like this is generally the case when something is vague and unclear. Like, being vague isn't the same as being cryptic. I would say David Lynch is often cryptic in his messages, but not vague, and there ARE messages there. Dong Lover is just vague as fuck because he knows that just putting some shit out there that SEEMS like there's more to it, that SEEMS like a metaphor, will get everybody talking about it and trying to figure out what the meaning is, and whatever meaning they come up with will be better than what he actually means by it, and he knows this, which is why he is purposefully vague when he creates it, and then refuses to explain it whatsoever.
