I do not hate Pitbulls, and I do not demonize those who keep them, it is their choice. I do however think dog owners who keep animals that result in attacks should be charged and the animals destroyed.
Further to peoples arguments that Pitbulls are softies and don't attack often; large dogs that have strong bites that fight not for dominance but out of savagery are far more likely to result in fatalities. This is not unique to Pitbulls but needs to be considered when deciding on what kind of dog you should own.
