I do work out. 1h hour gym every second day in addition to some regular climbing / bouldering and cardio. Very unhappy with the results after 2 years (pic releated). I have huge problems putting on muscle (or weight in general).
>What illness do you have?
Crohn's.
>What caused your relationship to go sour with your parents? Are they married?
They are married. My parents (and my whole family) are lower middle class at best. I was the first in my family to graduate university, but in the end, I am the one of my cousins who is in the worst state career wise.

Okay /b/, since your parents didn't teach you how to be happy, healthy, and not a loser, here is the secret path:
1) Get 8 hours of sleep (or 8 hours in bed trying to sleep) every night. Wake up around the same time every day. No screens.
2) Get at least 20 minutes of sunlight and fresh air. Every day.
3) Cut out the junk food. You eat too much sugar and refined grains and fried shit. Eat vegetables, every day.
4) Drink water. Plenty, every day. Stop drinking soda and energy drinks.
5) Cut out your addictive nonsense. Stop smoking, drinking, drugging, and jacking off to porn all day.
6) Exercise every day. It doesn't have to be intense if you can't make yourself do that. Stretch and go for a walk, if that's all you can do. Do some pushups and situps, whatever. But do it every day, at the same time if possible.
7) Go where people are. Talk to them, even if you're bad at it to start. Do this at least once a week. At work/school/stores doesn't count. This is purely social.
8) Stop lying. This includes telling false stories, obviously. But it also includes saying things with the primary intention of manipulating people or gaining status, even if they are true stories. This also includes lying to yourself.
9) Don't play video games for more time than you spend reading (books, not 4chan) each week.
10) If you are not in a meaningful job - take a shitty job in a field you find interesting. Then show up every day, work hard, get to know your bosses and co-workers, and apply for promotions (even ones you don't think you'll get).
In a year, your life will still be shit, but it will be miles better. In a few years, you'll wonder how you used to be such a loser. Keep a journal if you want to see exactly how things are improving. There's more advice from an old man, if anyone's interested.

>I don't have goals
In my experience, this is usually the result of a weak life philosophy. People who have no personal story concerning what life is about end up having no highest priorities. With no highest priority, people have nothing to aim for, and just drift.
Read people who talk about ethics and the purpose of life. Even people you disagree with. This is just to get you thinking about it. I recommend authors like Nietzsche, Evola, Kant, and even Jordan Peterson. Whoever, just as long as its interesting and on topic. Keep a journal of your thoughts, because it will help you organize and remember your thoughts. Use logic to help you keep your path straight, but logic will not give you the end goal. You'll have to aim at what feels meaningful to you, as soon as you dig it out of the chaotic mess of yourself, then develop your ideas around that.
>I'm stuck between procrastination and the feel to improve
I went through something like that in my early 20s. I kept getting bursts of motivation to do 20 things to fix my life, eventually lost my gusto, and then drop everything for a time, only to start again next time motivation hit me. I realized that motivation is inconsistent, and if I kept relying on it, I'd ride the ups and downs but average out in the same place year after year.
The way I fixed it is pretty simple. I picked one small habit, the one easiest action I knew I could make myself do every day if I didn't have a ton of other things to do. Then I focused on just adding that to my day for a month. Since it was so simple, I was consistent, and it became habit. The next month, I did the same thing with the next simplest action on the list. It seemed like it was incredibly slow, but by the end of the year, my routine had 12 healthy, productive patterns that it didn't have before. And they all felt like habit, so I didn't have to rely on motivation to strike.
Do you prefer x or y?

>>768377858
Because I am an abnormal loser.
>>768377925
>Putting Evola and Jordan Peterson with Kant
You misunderstand. I'm not saying they're comparable, or even that I agree with any of them. The point is to consider other people's thoughts on ethics and purpose, as a starting point to develop your own perspectives on what you should be doing.
This is useful even if you're listening to someone who is making a bad argument that you fully disagree with and disrespect - as long as they are addressing a thorough number of issues in detail.
>>768377527
>having weak life philosophy
yes that is me. There are a shitton of things that keep me down, my past (bunch of regrets, guilt), my present (can't seem to become independent from family), and my future scares me. And I'm not 16 anymore, to have to to wonder
>You'll have to aim at what feels meaningful to you
Thought I had one thing (drawing), but it starts to fade, and I get scared whenever I have to hold a pencil. Even though I sometimes like the end results, the scribbles.
>bursts of motivation
FUCK, the EXACT term is going on in my head for a while now (even though I'm not a native english speaker), because I took a step back and realized that I do literally what you just described (i.e. relying on motivation, which is fleeting)
So I said okay, I need DISCIPLINE, instead of motivation. But I keep falling back to do nothing, and essentially running away from hard work, which makes me feel like a bitch. Sometimes I feel like I can't do it alone. I might need a mentor.
Thanks for your answers wiseman, will try to write down my goals and everything that's needed to get out of this emotional hellhole once and for all.

>>768378180
Good luck, my friend.
As a side note - if you get back in to drawing, I have a book to recommend.
I am no artist, but I draw regularly because of the book Drawing From the Right Side of the Brain, by Betty Edwards. It teaches drawing, not purely in terms of technique, but in terms of the mental perspective that an artist develops. Reading that book has changed a lot of my perceptions about the physical world, and I've continued to practice drawing as a habit for years, just as a sort of meditation to keep my mind functioning in a fuller way. It might be interesting to read, if you continue drawing.
>>768378718
Yep, I'm familiar with this one :) Thanks again

>>768378180
ur just a lazy cunt and you need a boot up the ass
>>768379642

>>768379793
I work my ass off at my job, so even though I have low self esteem, I wouldn't call myself lazy.
I have to wake up at 4am. every morning to get to work, and I literally can't get home sooner that 7 pm, and by that time I'm so exhausted that I just go to sleep, maybe eat something beforehand.
>inb4 boo-hoo welcome to adult life
I know that this is how it works for a lot of people, but you do get tired of it and you just have to let it all out. In my case at least.
>>768380010
you see now you are stuck. You rely on a job that doesn't help you go any further and instead of adding something small in-between that can help you get a better job with better pay and better working times, you just "bite through". That's not hard work, that's comfort. You're comfortable where you are and people use people like you to do their dirty work while they earn the real money. Think about that and consider doing a programming course.
bump
>>768377527
evola and Jordan Peterson are some of the most boring reads I've ever had the courtesy of experiencing. Self-improvement is a billion dollar industry and you now see why new age things sell so fast. It's all marketing, as is that New Thought movement that talks about a magnetic gaze that you get from staring at a dot. It's wishful thinking bs the lot and people believe and abide by it, because they want it so much they experience a confirmation bias. The same with controversial, politically incorrect reads.
>>768380717
There's definitely truth to what you are saying.
Don't know about you, but aside from this work-schedule I have, I have to put up with a family that has done little to nothing to improve their situation, but complain a lot, and this environment is just so fucking toxic. It's draining. I am most definitely not comfortable where I am ( I get what you are saying, you mean things are not uncomfotable enough for me to change, but that's just not true. I do admit that I'm weak-willed, and I suffer because of that everyday)
>consider doing a programming course
I already went through 4 yrs of uni, studying something I never gave 2 shits about, exactly for the reason you're suggesting me to go and try programming.
I know it's probably worth it, you can get good money with it, but I don't think I could pull it off again (i.e. learning something just to get money, and not liking in, and on top of that, be bad at it).
>>768381246
thats your prob lol
i knew this one girl who came to an unfamiliar country all alone, managed to get herself a house, is studying, is working and built a quality social circle like within the first year. Not to mention that she had a family thing like you.
This goes 100% against the notion that guys on this site hold about women(roastie, weak, manipulative etc), but if she could pull it off, then you need to play your cards right and get degrees in places that have market, cut off the family that's putting you down and build yourself up.
You can stop working hard once you stop complaining about yourself.
>>768376741
That's not how confidence works.
Confidence is confidence in your ability to tackle new tasks and challenges, things by definition you cannot know beforehand how competent you are.
If you restrict yourself to only those things that you've done, you'll never progress.
>>768381871
>thats your prob lol
I know that. Worth noting, that I took a week off from work, to study for my master's entrance exam, which is next week.. Again, not a field I'm interested in, but 'has market"
>>768381932
I'm generally open to try new things. Especially since I am usually pretty good at them.
But approaching women (or social interaction in general) is not a new thing for me, and I know that I am bad at that my many, many hours of experience.

Dude. I'm told I'm a 7-8 also. The extremely fat and ugly chicks fucking flock to me. The fat ones believe they can shake their "curve" and it'll make me want to fuck them. Ugly girls have no self esteem usually, so I'm nice to them and some have nice bodies I lowered my standards once though for a fatter chick because I was extremely horny on a tinder date and I felt so disgusted that I'm never gonna do that again. Head is good, but you feel disgusted getting it
