Nah, it bothers you as much as it should, they broke their story just because without doing the proper amends.
It was so easy to come up with plots for fan art or whatevs with the summoner thing and I thought it just felt cool and actually original.
By the time they revamp every champ that contains a line that mentions the summoner I guess the only remnant from the old lore will be the term "summoner spells".

I think story/character wise its absolutely great, but especially swain its showing that riot's balance team is really wonky. first when he was released he was a bit under powered imo but now they competely overloaded his kit and he is strong at all moments in the game, unless you can get ahead of him before level 3 but thats pretty hard
I dont play much top lane but what I have seen of irelia she is very feast or famine so i either see her 1v9 or be dead weight, kinda yasuo syndrome there
