KSP is a very beautiful game and visual mods such as EVE, skyboxes and texture replacers are a good way to start. Just brows the most downloaded on Spaceport for a cross section of whats popular. I like base and station parts because I don't like to leave kerbals in command seats for 30 year missions.

like all in kerbal you have to climb the learning curve.. docking is ok if you try .. and try .. and try ... i build the whole station on the ground than seperatet and saved the parts and start bringing them into space. if i need more power just load and launch .. and yeah i haven't calculated how mutch i would need so i just uses two "powerpack" launches. the station is not final a second ore converter modul and one or holding tanks to add.
