Maybe, but I’m a minority that at the time lived with three siblings, a single working parent in New York, studying computer science. I don’t want to say that it’s because of the Obama administration and their agenda to “diversify” college campuses, but that’s likely what it was.

How much do you get paid hourly? I'm also a bartender/manager and this is correct. I make $15 an hour plus tips...a regular night is about $200-$300. My best night of tips so far was just shy of $1000.
>>
>>768098941
>They don't send you any record of what the courses should cost and that the dept/university covered it?
No, because public universities are publicly funded.

Even on the tuition bills I paid when I was an undergraduate just stated "administrative costs" and a couple of other things, it didn't include courses, those are recorded and reported differently directly by the university.

Groundskeeper at a retirement village.
Pros:
>Only work with one other guy, he is chill and we both smoke weed sometimes on lunch break
>Get to plan out my week (for the most part), I know what needs to be done more than my boss
>I work on the same grounds all of the time, no traveling like other grounds crews
>Work outdoors, get fresh air, sunlight, away from people (aside from the occasional resident when I need to talk about landscaping details.)
>Can listen to music or audio books most of the day
>Since it is retirement, the residents are pretty carefree as long as you don't forget to cut their grass or do their landscaping. A few can be nitpicks though.
>Set hours, always 8:00am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri.
Cons:
>Very low pay, compared to other independent grounds/landscapers
>Company refuses to give decent raises
>Sometimes have to do backwards things no other grounds company would actually do. (This is do to the company being retirement focused, so they don't know what is best for landscaping sometimes.)
>Sometimes get pulled off to do non-grounds related stuff. Like move heavy items if a resident died or is moving to another wing or something.
>Did I mention the pay is shit? Only $11/hour, but after many years of minimal raises.
>>

Let's put it another way

Unless you come from the top 5 US universities, you got into some ridiculously deep debt for an average-level education that you could have gotten for 10 times cheaper somewhere else

I feel genuinely sorry for you Anon, it must suck to have been raised in such an awful place than the US
>>

>>
>>768099125
They are funded differently, as they report costs and get money back from the government (basically reimbursement). In Norway, the public unis are funded through budget, so the number of students and costs of courses are already calculated.
>>
>>768098960
>f your education comesfrom outside the glorious u.s. education system it ain't worth Jack or shit.
Seeing how the US is flooded with foreign workers and there are half a gorillean different visas you can work on, I'd say that's simply untrue.

Pretty much this. The only reason I went with the Daimler cert was because of how fucking time consuming they are to work on. I get 15% of all the billing hours I accrue. So if a Mercedes rolls in, I KNOW it's a couple days worth of work, and my inner cash register goes KA-CHING! But yeah, pretty much anything Daimler puts their hands on is a giant piece of shit to work on.

I'm... variably employed in a school district. I was a special education aide, but that got too abusive so Ieft it. Now I'm a substitute teacher, pick up an after school homework club 4 times a week, and do sub-clerical work when I feel like it in the district's admin building. This of course means I get no benefits

Rates:

Substitute teaching: 1/2 day at $67, full day at $125

Hw club: $67/hour, but it's only one hour a day

Sub-clerk: $14.40/hour that gets bumped to $20.50 in July for the summer.

Teaching is a scam. Where I live teachers earn around 100k more or less based on seniority. They work 5 out of 9 periods a day. If they cover other classes during those 4 off periods they make $67 per 40 minute class and if they do an after school club they get $67 for that hour.

They can literally make an extra 2k per month without trying.

$11 + bonuses, for tending to / doing PT work with this quadriplegic lady with some muscle groups that are constantly contracted. Very flexible schedule and the sessions short, 3-4 hours at a time.
Feels good to be actually helping someone make steady progress with recovery, it's like I'm a real doctor without the 8 years of BS. Who care if the pay sucks, can write in whatever bonus time looks good and she just glances at the timesheet, since it's not her money, it's from an agency that's getting 22$ for every hour I work from Fed tax dollars to push around some paperwork.
What a good joke, and clueless shits still wonder why inflation is rising!

I own a Toyota. Single most dependable cars on the road. I have a 2003 corolla with 294K miles on it, and it runs like it's brand new. Cheap to fix, parts are simple to get a hold of. And it takes minimum effort to do any work on it. You couldn't PAY me to drive a Daimler product.

The only real difference between them is the vibe uses a direct flow exhaust manifold. That is the only true difference except for trim packages.

I was fresh out of college a needed work. Wasn't so bad first few years, just assholes with behavior problems in otherwise normal classes (you would be amazed what qualifies a kid for an aide if they parents bitch enough). I was basically a teacher's aide.

Then he went to high school (later expelled for dealing) and I remained in my building. I was assigned to some fucked up kid with literally every classification but downs. Had violent fits in the middle of class because he didn't do his hw, tried to convince us the calculator was changing his correct answers to wrong ones, etc. But of course he was in a normal class because mommy wanted it. Kid punched his teacher, kicked and punched me, threatened an assistant principal and even threatened to gauge his eyes out. NOTHING happened except ONE 2 day suspension when he threatened the AP. My boss refused to reassign me.

The next year I got a downs who was also in normal classes because mommy said so. Of course he couldn't handle it and became angry constantly. Hit me a few times and even tried to break my fingers when I stopped him from breaking into other special ed kids' lockers. Again, literally no consequence given and they wouldn't reassign me. Quit right there.

$206k a year. Security Engineer for a top 5 tech company. Shit is so easy. I work from home every day and put in about 25 hours a week. I make slightly more than software devs and don’t have to work nearly as hard.

Supervisor for a team that cleans aircraft.
$18hr, but I average 15hrs of OT a week so it makes it quite a bit better.
>>
>>768104582
on average its 10-12 hours a day
>>
>>768104619
OT is the shit
my company is always looking for people to pick up extra shifts, but my schedule is set up weird due to working nights, so even if I don't pick up extra work, I've always got 2 or 3 hours of overtime on any given check

Yep, OT is pretty nice. We have so many aircraft to clean we have literally infinite OT. We have workers that pull doubles every other day and work one of there off days. They average 25hrs of OT a week.

If you like driving, look into companies that move non-emergency patients to and from hospitals in your area. Just got hired by one, and it pays about 60k a year. Just gotta have a clean record and pass a drug test. Plus, they're gonna work with me about school, since I'm putting myself through engineering courses.
