Stalin used their hunger (and fostered it) to spur the soldiers to keep fighting against the Czarist rulers and soldiers loyal to the royal family, as well as fight on behalf of the Nazis until Germany fucked them over and they had a civil war to deal with.
>>768095412
Reminds me of pic related meme. So he basically turned his soldiers into wild, meat seeking mutts by making them go to battle for food? And starvation made them stronger?
>>768094611
Stalin made Hitler look like an amateur. He killed at least 10 times as many people did, some estimates put it at around 300 million. Read up on how he starved the Kulaks and the Ukrainians when they rebelled against his totalitarian rule.

Stalin was the biggest of the 20th century dictators.
Dictatorship in those years was enabled by radio, TV, the press and other inventions that allowed certain people to broadcast and dominate the media. These technologies had no "reply", no "comment" and no "create your own channel". The government could say what it liked without contradiction. (Trump is trying to achieve this with his Presidential Twitter account but he is failing).

the difference between stalin and hitler was that stalin had no dedicated agenda regarding genocide. if you opposed communist rule you and your people were wiped out. if you represented an ethnic "threat" (ie the jews) then you were simply deported into the hands of the germans.
but you don't see him being reviled for being the most murderous dictator until mao came along with comparable numbers.
hitler really was a lightweight, and the jews nothing more than professional victims. gotta love media manipulation.
Stalin was the greatest leader of the working class in all of history.
He build up the Soviet Union and the world communist movement guided by the science of Marxism Leninism.
Under his leadership fascism a socialist economy was developed, invadors were destroyed, half of europe liberated and people all over the world inspired to fight for the cause of the working class to carry out its historic mission of creating a classless society.
He made the greatest contribution to steer the party forward to socialism.
His best works were on the questions of nationality, the economic issues of the USSR and the development of a workers democracy.

He steamrolled all over third reich with his red army, consisting of the original Antifa. He then turned his focus to the Soviet's internal enemies, and sent em off to gulag. You could argue that he sent too many, but yeah, who are we to know?
Bottom line is he was an excellent communist leader, but his legacy suffers due to western post-war propaganda.

Sidenotes:
He stepped down from his post as General Secretary in 1952 on the 19th Party Congress, referenced in Grover Furrs works in the earlier post.
This post was supposedly granting him his "powers". It was abolished. His last year before being murderd by revisionist "market socialists" he had none of the positions "privileges" and was merely one of the secretaries amongst the others.
Bill Bland, though a Hoxhaist and wrong theory on his own, describes some of the events that lead to the restauration of capitalism in the Soviet Union right after Stalins death by the Khrushchevite clique

After an initial support for a 2 state federal republic solution for Palestine and Israel, seeing imperialist managing to create Israel as a foothold for themself and sadly the reactionary clerical leadership of the muslims turning the whole thing into shit they abandoned ship and went on to later support Baathist movements, the PFLP and such in their national liberation movement against Israel.

Meanwhile cucks like hitler sat in vienna crying after some woman to notice him and creaming his pants for her just looking at him while later going on and fucking with generals, failing art school and being a hobo.

>market "socialist" in bed with western imperialists making baseless accusations and threats against a real communist
why am i not surprised
The French writer Henri Barbusse (1873-1935) describes the simplicity of Stalin's life-style:
"One goes up to the first floor, where white curtains hang over three of the windows. These three windows are Stalin's home. In the tiny hall a long military cloak hangs on a peg beneath a cap. In addition to this hall there are three bedrooms and a dining-room. The bedrooms are as simply furnished as those of a respectable, second-class hotel. . . The eldest son, Jasheka, sleeps at night in the dining room, on a divan which is converted into a bed; the younger sleeps in a tiny recess, a sort of alcove opening out of it. . Each month he earns the five hundred roubles which constitute the meagre maximum salary of the officials of the Communist Party (amounting to between £20 and £25 in English money). . . . This frank and brilliant man is a simple man. He does not employ thirty-two secretaries, like Mr. Lloyd George; he has only one. . .
Stalin systematically gives credit for all progress made to Lenin, whereas the credit has been in very large measure his own."
(H. Barbusse: 'Stalin: A New World seen through One Man'; London; 1935; p. vii, viii, 291, 294).
True, Stalin had the use of a dacha, or country cottage, but here too his life was equally simple, as his daughter Svetlana relates:
"It was the same with the dacha at Kuntsevo. . . .
My father lived on the ground floor. He lived in one room and made it do for everything. He slept on the sofa, made up at night as a bed".
(S. Alliluyeva: 'Letters to a Friend'; London; 1967; p. 28).
The American diplomat Joseph Davies (Joseph Davies, American lawyer and diplomat (1876-1958); Chairman (1915-16) and Vice-Chairman (1916-18) of Federal Trade Commission; Ambassador to Moscow (1936-38), to Belgium (1938-39) remarks on Stalin's simple, kindly manner:
"I was startled to see the door . . . open and Mr. Stalin come into the room alone.. . . . His demeanour is kindly, his manner almost depreciatingly simple. . . .He greeted me cordially with a smile and with great simplicity, but also with a real dignity. . . .
His brown eye is exceedingly kindly and gentle. A child would like to sit in his lap and a dog would sidle up to him".
(J. E. Davies: 'Mission to Moscow'; London; 1940; p. 222, 230).
Isacc Don Levine (Issac Don Levine, Russian-born American newspaper correspondent (1892-1981) writes in his hostile biography of Stalin:
"Stalin does not seek honours. He loathes pomp. He is averse to public displays. He could have all the nominal regalia in the chest of a great state. But he prefers the background":
(I. D. Levine: 'Stalin: A Biography'; London; 1931; p. 248-49).
Another hostile critic, Louis Fischer (Louis Fischer, American writer (1896-1970), testifies to Stalin's 'capacity to listen':
"Stalin . . . inspires the Party with his will-power and calm. Individuals in contact with him admire his capacity to listen and his skill in improving on the suggestions and drafts of highly intelligent subordinates".
(L. Fischer: Article in: 'The Nation', Volume 137 (9 August 1933); p. 154).

"I must say in all conscience, comrades, that I do not deserve a good half of the flattering things that have been said here about me. I am, it appears, a hero of the October Revolution, the leader of the Communist Party of the Soviet, the leader of the Communist International, a legendary warrior-knight and all the rest of it. This is absurd, comrades, and quite unnecessary exaggeration. It is the sort of thing that is usually said at the graveside of a departed revolutionary. But I have no intention of dying yet. . . . .
I really was, and still am, one of the pupils of the advanced workers of the Tiflis railway workshops".

"And what is Stalin? Stalin is only a minor figure".

"Your congratulations and greetings I place to the credit of the great Party of the working class which bore me and reared me in its own image and likeness. And just because I place them to the credit of our glorious Leninist Party, I make bold to tender you my Bolshevik thanks".
(J. V. Stalin: 'Works', Volume 12; Moscow; 1955; p. 146).
April 1930
"There are some who think that the article 'Dizzy with Success' was the result of Stalin's personal initiative. That, of course, is nonsense. It is not in order that personal initiative is a matter like this be taken by anyone, whoever he might be, that we have a Central Committee".
(J. V. Stalin: 'Works', ibid.; p. 218).
August 1930
"You speak of your devotion' to me.. . . . I would advise you to discard the 'principle' of devotion to persons. It is not the Bolshevik way. Be devoted to the working class, its Party, its state. That is a fine and useful thing. But do not confuse it with devotion to persons, this vain and useless bauble of weak-minded intellectuals'
(J. V. Stalin: 'Works', Volume 13; Moscow; 1955; p. 20).

"I am absolutely against the publication of 'Stories of the Childhood of Stalin'.
The book abounds with a mass of inexactitudes of fact, of alterations, of exaggerations and off unmerited praise. . But . . . . the important thing resides it the fact that the book has a tendency to engrave on the minds of Soviet children (and people in general) the personality cult of leaders, of infallible heroes. This is dangerous and detrimental. The theory of 'heroes' and the 'crowd' is not a Bolshevik, but a Social-Revolutionary (Anarchist) theory. I suggest we burn this book".

http://ml-review.ca/aml/BLAND/CultJVS.html
Of all the men I know who have power, Stalin is the most unpretentious. I spoke frankly to him about the vulgar and excessive cult made of him, and he replied with equal candour. He grudged, he said, the time which he had to spend in a representative capacity, and that is easy to believe, for Stalin is, as many well-documented examples have proved to me, prodigiously industrious and attentive to every detail, so that he really has no time for the stuff and nonsense of superfluous compliments and adoration. On an average, he allows to be answered no more than one of every hundred telegrams of homage which he receives. He himself is extremely objective, almost to the point of incivility, and welcomes a like objectivity from the person he is talking to.
>>768103638
He shrugs his shoulders at the vulgarity of the immoderate worship of his person. He excuses his peasants and workers on the grounds that they have had too much to do to be able to acquire good taste as well, and laughs a little at the hundreds of thousands of enormously enlarged portraits of a man with a moustache which dance before his eyes at demonstrations. I pointed out to him that in the end even men of unimpeachable taste have set up busts and portraits of him, of more than doubtful artistic merit, in places to which they do not belong, as for example the Rembrandt Exhibition. Here he became serious. He supposed that there lay behind such extravagances the zeal of men who had only lately espoused the regime and were now doing everything within their power to prove their loyalty. He thinks it is possible even that the "wreckers" may be behind it in an attempt to discredit him. "A servile fool," he said irritably, "does more harm than a hundred enemies." If he tolerates all the cheering, he explained, it is because he knows the naive joy the uproar of the festivities affords those who organize them, and is conscious that it is not intended for him personally, but for the representative of the principle that the establishment of socialist economy in the Soviet Union is more important than the permanent revolution.
