I learned that lesson early because I was fortunate in my late teens to experience real emotional intimacy with a girl in conjunction with a physical tension that had built up over a few years. When it finally happened, it was like being injected with pure endorphins. All of the sex I had before and after that can't remotely compare.
Now I know what to look for and what to prioritize. Sucks for people who go through the motions forever not realizing until later what they were trying to find in sleeping around. Some people never find it. But most eventually connect the dots and get it figured out. The analytical perspective from a biopsychological perspective actually answers his question. You don't need to emotionally identify or resonate with an answer to his question for it to help them understand the process.
