I never actually knew the sweetener was different. But it's got a different taste. I think maybe the best way to describe it is, not as sweet... if you've ever had just plain club soda its got a sort of "this tases like club soda and diet coke" rather than "this tastes like diet coke"

This is the best soda I've ever had.
It was a sleeper hit and not many tried it during its limited release, but it blew me away and I bought *a lot* of it. The flavor was bold and kicked you on your ass, but didn't taste like most other artificial sweeteners. I've been craving it for years, but have never seen it since like 2011.

I've only ever seen it in Mexico in 2012, but it is the fucking best and I drank it every chance I got. Super smooth with distinct hints of wine without the bitter taste you'd expect. Tried other sangria sodas and nothing compares to this. If I saw it for sale ever I'd as much stock as I could.

This also deserves a mention in this thread because where else will I post? It's basically my middle school experience in a bottle. Tasted great, hyped you up and the packaging was on point. I didn't develop a taste for real energy drinks until I was older (I thought Rockstar tasted horrible at the time) so this was the best I had. I don't think I ever drank the red like pic related though... and living in the NE it vanished here by the time I was in High School it seemed.
I am glad Monster Mutant exists though since it captures some of the same spirit but I can't indulge too often since that much sugar goes against being /fit/.

Nihon no aji Ramune. Call me a weeb if you like but for some reason that Japanese lemonade tastes way better than anything we make here in the UK. Sadly since I learned I get gout flare ups I have to be very sparing with it because HCFS is a purine soup. Diet drinks wise, I think vanilla Coke zero.

No, it does not taste like rootbeer. People who say that shit also say that horehound tastes like rootbeer. American rootbeer as we know it today is flavored with wintergreen mint. Proper sasparilla is flavored with sasparilla root which tastes much more like black licorice. Other than that, yeah, it's the dark ambrosia perfection.
