Quick question for anyone who has quit smoking, i was a pack and a half day smoker, i have a 90 supply of 21mg,14mg and 7mg patches. Today is the first day going cold turkey with 21mg patch, i'm dying. Will i overdose if i throw a 7mg patch on with the 21mg patch? I know some of you niggers have gone through this.
>>
if you smoke you're retarded
>>
vape nash faggot
>>
Seek a doctor to get advise. What kind of quality feedback do you expect from a bunch of 14yo virgins?
>>
>>767909744
Agreed, now i'm trying to not be retarded. But thanks for the input champ.
>>767909747
i don't know what nash is but i'm assuming you mean weed, i fucking wish but that's not an option. All i have is adderall and the come down makes me want to smoke a pack in half an hour and fucking sucks. And xanax which is fucking lame.
>>
>>767909813
I already know what the doctor will say
>abloo bloo blah don't take more than recommended
Fuck that i want to hear some real advice. like docs tell you, you will overdose if you smoke while on the patch and that's a straight up lie. unless you smoke like 2 packs.
>>
You need to look at your situation from the outside
Cigarettes are a waste of money in every way
They don't get you high
They're expensive as hell in America at least
You're gonna spend roughly $15 a day on shit that literally gives you cancer and makes it harder to breathe
There is no real reason to smoke another cigarette and don't get me wrong when I walk by people smoking outside I take a big whiff and want nothing but to puff on a cancer stick but I don't because I have self-control
You're going to want another cigarette because you're chemically addicted to nicotine
Realize this and repeat the reasons you quit in the first place

Quit being a fucking pussy I quit cigarettes about 2 years ago and haven't had one since

I've smoked for 8 years and I've quit.

Been about 2 years now.

I literally walk past people smoking now and I feel a quick disgust. It's crazy how the tables can turn when your mind isn't under the hypnotism you get when you're a smoker.

Anyway, the best things that helped me quit was the idea that I had nothing to lose. If I started to quit, and then I smoked again - it wasn't the end of the world. Big deal. The idea was to keep trying, because there was nothing to lose.

ALSO,

USE APPS. I cannot stress this enough. I started to use quit smoking apps, which tracked everything from the amount of tar in my body, to the amount of money saved, ect;

Of course, when I first started, I was checking this shit every second. Then, as days went by, I checked it every couple hours. Then, as a week went by, it was every odd day. As time went on I began to realise that I started to even forget to check the app - that's when I knew I was starting to forget about cigarettes too.

My other thing that helped me was limiting my "goings out" or interaction with people to the minimum for about a week or so.

After the initial 10 days, it was all smooth sailing from there.

AND MY FINAL ADVICE. Anytime you felt a "craving", these CRAVINGS are a MOMENTARY thing. They have time limits. When you feel it - GRAB a lighter, lift it up to your face, make your hand in the shape of holding a cigarette, and ACT as if you are sucking in the air (with your mouth closing slightly to create the air pressure you feel when sucking on a filter tip) AT THE SAME TIME as you're striking the lighter. KEEP repeating this over and over until your craving goes away (and it does). As time goes on, you will notice that the craving time limit decreases.

Over time I realised that half of the cravings came from the ACT and SOUNDS of lighting/smoking a cigarette.

Do all of this, and I assure you, you will quit. You will then have the veil come away from your eyes and realise the hypnotism you were under.

I get this and all but it wasn't really the question, i'm quitting because i had being chained to them and not having one for 6 hours ruins my fucking day. Hate that shit and i'm stopping regardless. The question was if i can miz 21mg nicotine patches with 7mg nicotine patches for a few days while i rough out the worst of it. Iv'e done this before and failed but the first week is the hardest i just want to find a way not to chimp out and break.
>>
>>767910473

You gotta do it the hard way bro. Forget patches. I did it without them, they're not essential.

Use a quit smoking app to track.

Limit social gatherings.

Keep your mind busy with various things.

Phantom fake smoking by striking a lighter and acting like you're sucking in air every time you get a craving - this may sound silly, but it's a true thing.

Do all of these things, and you will make it brah.

i do vape but with 0% nicotine so it's a placebo. It help's a little i guess. Fucking blows my coil is burnt and i can't get more until like 8pm tonight. Fuck trying to vape with a burnt coil it's fucking gross.
>>767910708
Patches do help my man, this is my second attempt it's just so fucking rough the first few days i need something to smooth it out.
>>
>>767910866
i suggest starting with some % nicotine and moving down in % to ween urself off - starting with none makes it kinda rough
>>
he was an addict, and scoffs at those who are still trapped in addiction, man...whatever you earned your opinion doesnt mean you also have to take the route of degrading those who still have problems. asshole.
>>
>>767909700
So here's the thing about quitting nicotine (or anything really). You gotta do it cold turkey. You don't simply substitute one type of nicotine for another. Just like those quitting opiates shouldn't just substitute one opiate for another. Just because you're getting it from a doc doesn't make it any healthier.

So here's what happens when you quit nicotine altogether (no patches, no gum). You'll have 2 very stressful days where you're on edge. Cravings will be bad. The stress/anger fades after day 2. Also chew gum, always have some on you, you get a craving, chew gum instead. Truth is, most smokers are simply addicted to having something in their mouth.

For about a week, you'll still have cravings. But after that week, they'll be much better. It will be like a craving for a steak dinner, yeah, it sounds good, but you can take it or leave it. After 2 weeks, you'll have much few and much weaker cravings. You're basically home free.

But you switch to the patch, you're not doing much.... also the success rates of patches/gums are virtually nonexistent.
>>
>>767911016
Right but i'm already on the patch. Besides it kind of defeats the purpose of quitting cigs if i'm just getting addicted to vaping. I used 3mg juice for awhile and i quit cigs for a month but i had to keep vaping to stay sane. I want to completely get off nicotine for good. But god damn was it great, it was the first time in years i got nicotine buzzes in years, it's way too good though.

Are you fucking retarded? Seriously.
>>
a vaporizer helped me go from a pack a day to a pack a week.

didnt help me quit completely as i relapsed when it broke on me.
i got another one havnt havnt been able to get achieve the same success.

maybe try vaping a high nicotine liquid? of course you also run the risk of looking like a fuckin douchebag / tool.
>>
>>767909844
vape nash = vape nation.
>>
>>767911133
I did quit for a week and was home free pretty much one time, my issue is the habit and anger. If i get angry it's like there's this fire that spikes and makes me want a cig so bad i go fucking nuts. Literally cannot play video games at all when i try to quit because as soon as i fail i go right back to cigs.
>>
>>767911184
Ok so i guess it's half cold turkey? Going from a pack and a half a day to nothing but a glorified placebo is pretty much cold turkey but whatever homo.
>>
>>767911220
should have read the thread first. nevermind that.

another way to do it is to replace the habit with a positive one.
anyy time you feel like going for a smoke. exercise instead. just do like 20 push ups and 20 sit ups.

i'm sporting 2 21mg patches right now. you won't od if yr heart rate isn't too high (so don't exercise with em both on)
>>
>>767910866
trust me you need to hold up in a room for like 4 days with a bunch of weed, go cold turkey and just get really high and watch tv / play videogames.

once you have the withdrawing bit done its just willpower to not smoke. weed really helps with the feeling shitty part of withdrawing
>>
>>767909700
Patch fag here.

No, you won't die, though your heart rate may spike.

Always use Nicoderm patches (the off-brands are for niggers and are lesser quality)

The best way to quit is to follow the program as outlined on the box. Smoke a pack a day? Start with the 21mg patches, and stick to that dosage as the box reccomends.

It's expensive to follow the program exactly (~$200), but it works.

I used the lozenges if I still had an itch to smoke while on the patch.

Hope this helps.
>>
>>767911424
this thread made me go outside for a cig.
god dammit.

every time i crave one i do it but when i do it, it disgusts me. tastes like shit. feels like shit.

but here i go again knowing its gonna suck.
>>
>>767911497
yep. the patches makes them taste like balls but you are mentally compelled to have one anyway. best not to have any around you
>>
what does a cig withdrawl feel like.
i once had no money one day and all i felt was anger.

is it just mood swings and anger?
>>
>>767911626
not on the patch. different anon here.
still tastes like shit every time i smoke one.
>>
>>767911463
Dude believe me if that was a viable option i would do that in a heartbeat. It would be so fucking easy. All i can get at the moment though is adderall and xanax. Adderall is worthless because all i want to do on adderall is smoke and xanax is a fucking lame ass drug.
>>
>>767909700
Just funkking get a vape with nicotine those patches are useless
>>
>>767911626
It's a hard feeling to describe, you get tensed up, some people get sick, some get angry. The best way to describe it is it feels like you're on fire and the only relief is to smoke, every bit of stress or anger makes the fire spread and become more violent. That's the best way i can describe it.
>>
>>767911688
xanax will fuck you up to a point of no return if youre not careful.
flush that shit immediately.
>>
>>767909700
probably not if you've been smoking alot recently, the first time i smoked i had no tolerance so one cig would make me nic sic. No Bueno but its not that bad if you take a shower
>>
Just smoke some weed and you should be good
>>
>>767911872
I always hear that but iv'e been taking it on and off for years and never had an issue. It seems like a fucked thing to get hooked on considering it's so fucking boring. It's worthless to me, i'll take 4mg and not feel a thing but people keep giving it to me. I have some horded up but it's so fucking awful. Fucking ambien is a better drug and that's a sleep aid.
>>
>>767912057
the "right" way to use xanax for abuse purposes is mixing with alcohol.

gives you that throwed feel.

takin them alone is just boring like you say it is.
>>
>>767912513
Fuck that i tried that once, took a shot of jack and .5mg and that's all i remember. Blacked out. Woke up the next morning over my trashcan, puke everywhere and all my liquor bottles were empty. How the fuck is that fun?
>>
I've been trying to quit for over a year now, I have no advice but I wish you the best of look brother.
>>
>>767912755
u probably had a lot of fun that you dont remember.

that shot prolly made it feel like 10 xans.
>>
>>767912931
What's even the point if you don't remember though? What's the point if you're so fucked up you may as well been on autopilot? Seems pretty stupid tbh. Not to mention having zero control and blacking out is dangerous as fuck.

I'd seriously suggest getting a rebuildable tank or dripper. You'll save even more money by making your own coils and wicking your own cotton.

A rebuildable tank like the Vandyvape Kylin is like 25 bucks, a spool of clapton wire will be like 8 and cotton will be like 5 at most. I've been doing this for about a year and have bought exactly one spool of wire and two sets of cotton each over that time.
>>
For those of you trying to quit smoking or nicotine of any sort, just know this.

Two weeks. Two weeks is all it'll take. Two weeks of hell to beat the chemical dependency. Two weeks is all it takes to change a habit of any kind. It'll be hell, but that's all it'll be. Two weeks.
>>
>>767909700
Get yourself some nice scandinavian snus.
>>
>>767909700
Literally just stop. That's what I did. Sure, you're going to want to rip people heads off for a couple days but be a man and overcome your body.
>>
>>767909700
What if u just felt whatever feeling u were covering up by smoking?
>>
>>767916607
For me, the first week was the hardest.
>>
>>767910293
how long did you smoke?
>>
>>767909700
I'm not a doctor but I've had a patch on, chewed, smoked, and Vaped all at the same time. That being said, I wouldn't suggest it. Your body is just freaking out because you're breaking a habbit. I am literally going through the same shit right now. I'm on week two and I feel totally fine. Just hold out dude. Don't throw your hard earned money to big tobacco anymore. Fight the urge the cravings get better. Trust me when I say that most of the negative effects are in your head.
