I was generalizing for the sake of the question. Both of the options given are close enough to average that a person with other qualities could do well with either. Most people around 5'10" probably wouldn't trade to get taller. Why would you if you're already doing well?
With that in mind, being slightly taller than average confers more benefits because everyone sees it, not just your sexual partners. Many people find it more attractive. Athletic benefits if you're into that sort of thing. You're more intimidating to threats. Subconsciously people think of you as more confident and more of a leader.
Obvs if you're shorter you can still have all of those things. But it's just true that being taller as a guy has advantages.
