Our peoples in Iceland have very honorable traditions! Let me elaborate on our most famous.
Every new year, on the first Sunday of January, within the community in preparation for the coldest temperatures of our winters, we will hold a sequence of activities in succession.
A very short community trek to the nearest pond, lake, or body of water is required. Longtables and tents will be set up fashionably for the celebration.

The first event is what we have taken to calling "The Dump Tank", or informally "Dumping."
The eldest are obligatory nominees for this activity, as their weakened sphincters are most suitable and the walk will loosen them up nicely. The elders will sit upon chairs atop several beautifully hand-crafted mechanisms that are rigged up to a target. When the target is triggered, the chair will collapse and the participant is dropped. The device is suspended above the water, and children will have the first attempts at hitting the targets. We are very conservative people here though and do not use a ball, or a rock, for example. The children must squat and dig around their backside for any fecal matter to use as their projectile. This has always been my favorite part of this activity. If a participant does succeed in hitting the target with their excrement, the elder is dropped into our coldest of Icelandic waters. The drastic change in temperature instantaneously evacuates the bowels of the elder.

The next event is the most interactive and most fun for the children. After the dumping, the children will rush to the waters and begin what we call "Log Bobbing", or just "Lobbing" is fine.
With hands behind their backs and using nothing but their mouths and teeth, they must fish out as many of the fresh elder nuggets and logs that they can. Brown pebbles are generally frozen solid by the time they are reached and many can be collected in the mouth at one time. The children will bring their collection and spit them out onto the longtables. Once a sufficient amount of feces is harvested from the elders, the final phase of the celebration begins.
