Just saw Infinity War
Awesome movie.

I could nit-pick about everything wrong with the movie.....
>All main characters seem to be more like background characters, than front n' center heroes. (Worrying more about sharing screen time than coming up with solid protangonists).
>Should've called this movie "Thanos Quest" instead of Infinity War, since it's more about him than the Avengers.
>Too much hype about the Soul Stone, lead to disappointment where it actually was.
>.....and so on...

....but all those gripes are largely overshadowed by the over-whelming underlining message present in Thanos' motives for searching the stones. A more serious issue than the "Forced Diversity" found in Black Panther.

OVER-POPULATION.
>Thanos was right.
>...and none of the heroes could prove him wrong; especially the scene with Thanos explaining his history and motives to Dr.Strange, and there were never any counter-argument to Thanos' goals.
>Like, "No you shouldn't kill half the universe because,......."

Personally, if Disney stopped producing MCU movies today, this would be a perfect ending to the whole franchise.

Nigga had absolute power and the only option he saw was to massacre everything. Could have made resources plentiful, but his murder boner was primed and would not be sated.

And the movie had to follow Thanos around simply because he needed the character development to establish him as a threat. Otherwise he's just angry Barney with like <10 minutes of screen time across a decade of movies.

>Nigga had absolute power and the only option he saw was to massacre everything. Could have made resources plentiful,

He might as well massacre everything, if you leave it to him to do everything for everyone in the universe.

What's the point of living if the "drive" to survive and live is inconsequential to life itself.

There's only a finite number of resources compared to the population of the universe (as he said), and if he makes the universe so that no one starves, there is no consequence and people become fat and complacent.

You think Thanos wants a universe full of fatties?
>>
We already know about the heroes this movies about thanos and since thanos has the gauntlet he can make more resources very unnecessary but understandable
>>
>>767699319
All heroes were already character-developed in their respective movies. They didn't need any growth, so they could afford to have little screen time.

And Thanos is the fucking protagonist of the movie. Notice how at the end it didn't read "The Avengers will return" but "THANOS will return".
>>
you fucks should read the comic instead of wathing some peice of shit movie. fuck tards a /b/ never seem to disappoint to show how stupid yall are
>>
>>767701140

Well it would have been a very kinky movie if the Avengers were to fight a guy who wanted to create resources for the Universe.

What would seem logic to you doesn't work on fiction, man.

OP is unaware that Infinity war happens in a book (series) called the Infinity Gauntlet

Thanos only loses because he doesn't believe in his own convictions and self consciously sabotages his own plan

Thanos always loses, that's his character
>>
>>767700841
i think you're understating the whole unlimited power thing. he could make it so there are infinite resources and nobody gets fat and complacent. there are also plenty of counter arguments to his motives, they just didn't write any into the movie because they're probably saving them for when he gets shit on in the sequel.
>>
>>767701620
the comics are completely different. his motives are different, his methods are different, the heroes are different, the infinity gems are different, everything is different. there is no reason to compare the two. his lack of confidence in the comics says nothing of his conviction in the movies.
>>
>>767701292
So why not develop this movie's plotline in another one? Just leave a massive hour-and-a-half battle scene and go with it.
>>
>>767701292
>They didn't need any growth

Well Iron Man got 'some' growth, marrying Pepper, talking about kids, surgically re-implanting the arc reactor back in his chest.
>Never told us why he got it implanted.
>How he came up with "nanotech"

A scene with Bruce Banner and Senator Ross would've been good for continuity sake. I mean Ross is Hulk's archenemy, you think Ross should've shown some shock-value if Bruce was in the next room.

The Fall of Xandar (and the Nova Corp) shouldn't be off-screen.

Ned and Peter on the bus talking about Aunt May's reaction to discovering he's Spiderman at the end of his movie. Maybe if we knew Aunt May's lecturing about being a superhero could've defined Spiderman as he battles off planet until he died.

What actually happened to the Collector? Will they explain who he (and the Ragnarok's Gamemaster) really is?

More Hulk and Bruce internal dialouge. I kind of guessed that Hulk was afraid of Thanos and wouldn't change. Not that I'm asking for spoon-feeding, but the interaction between the two could've made the relationship more rounded.

Nothing from Falcon or Black Widow.
>We'll kill you if we have to.
>...that's the ONLY (big) thing she's said in the film.

Why was Captain America's uniform black and dirty like; with the white star ripped off?....What has been happening to him since Civil War? There must have been some action since then.

WHAT HAPPENED TO KORG!!!!!!!!!!?

Hawkeye quit (again, off screen) for family reasons? He's been in the franchise just as long as everyone else....why no homage?

Even Ant-man too?
>As far as I know Antman and the Wasp takes place between Civil War and Infinity War; so I'll trust they'll explain it better.

Black Panther just had it's movie, so I suppose he'd get a pass from any new development.

>he could make it so there are infinite resources and nobody gets fat and complacent.

You sure about that.

In the (Canadian topic) about "Livable Wages", the main point against it is the desire to work will be gone. There will be no "need", since the powers that be gives it to you.

Same concept with Thanos....if he's going to just give it to you. Then meaning in life will be meaningless. Thanos is a Darwinist (not a nihilist), that life and death are synonymous. To make life meaningless would mean there is only death anyways. So the choice is, kill half of life in the universe and have the other half fight for resources, or (your choice) everything is given to you and become fat and complacent.

Why didn't Dr. Strange just disconnect his gauntlet arm using his portals?

Or dismember everyone with portals for that matter. its really the ultimate magic aside from time control
>>
>>767703192

>Never told us why he got it implanted.
probably so he could have the nanotech at all times

agree with everything else for the most part especially korg
>>
the little buckler shields Cap got at Wakanda were pretty lame

you're thinking with real world logic. he has INFINITE POWER. he could instill a permanent good work ethic in everyone and also make resources plentiful. he could MAKE EVERYONE not get fat and complacent
>>
>>767703192
>Con't

How did Thanos know Stark by name?

Actually, Thanos should only take away the dumber half of mankind and religious people. If you are educated and aren’t very religious, you’ll use birth control and your rate of reproduction would be between 1 and 2 child per women. The problem would be solved for generations. But he randomly take away people, so the dumb people will reproduce like bunnies.

probably some magic shit from the infinity stones
>>
>>767704921
>you're thinking with real world logic

That's the charm with modern, post 90s, superhero movies, they use "real world logic.

>he has INFINITE POWER.
But is still limited by finite mortality and morality.

Usually when we're asked "If you were 'god', what would you do." Our answers are often influenced and limited by political, religious, or scientific ideologies.

You could take the "socialist" route and feed everyone, but then even with infinite power, that can only do so much in the short run.

>he could instill a permanent good work ethic in everyone and also make resources plentiful.

Dont you see the contradiction? Resources are plentiful, no one needs to work at all. It's all given to you.

>he could MAKE EVERYONE not get fat and complacent.

So it's more work on Thanos, to carry all life? ...so again, what's the point of life then?
>>
>>767699319
oh yeah awesome movie, marvel universe is awesome, super cool, very nice stuff. I love super heroes they are so cool and the movies? pff the coolest. What a time to be alive man i tell you what, super cool movies every now an then, mostly the super heroes ones
>>
Did it really mean kill half of everything in the "entire universe" or the galaxy?
Because SOMEWHERE out there has to be something much more powerful than even Thanos and everyone could imagine
And if they figure out who killed half of their population they're gonna be fuckin' pissed

I miss when thanos was just trying to get some skeleton pussy

>Actually, Thanos should only take away the dumber half of mankind and religious people.

What I love about Thanos in this movie is, ...he doesn't discriminate. He's not in this for creating a master race. Not just the poor, but the rich, the strong and the weak, doesn't matter....HALF....Balance with life and it's eco-system.

It's a perfect sentiment, and just for godly power.

>The problem would be solved for generations.

China will prove you wrong though, back in the 70s they saw how over-population was serious problem and enacted a "one-child" policy.....it didn't work.

>so the dumb people will reproduce like bunnies.

That should balance itself out as well. Dumb people are dumb, because with thin resources available they have no room to exercise their brains and potential. They're force to adopt a "Can't win, don't try" attitude, then sit on the porch of their trailer park and fiddle a banjo. Knowing that resources are plentful because half the people in existence isn't soaking it up, then it would inspire the "dumb people" to spread out their potential.

I'm assuming there is some power generated passively from the Soul Stone as seen with Red Skull knowing Thanos and Gamora when they showed up.
