My job is to watch tv until I literally drop from exhaustion, then get up and make myself a sausage, egg, and smoked gouda borito with monster zero ultra. Then I play vidya until I feel like watching tv again. I'm a 100% service-connected disabled veteran and that pays like 38K/yr and I pay like $500/month in rent and about that same amount per month for the new car I drive, plus $80/month in insurance. Cable and internet are included. I used to make $80K from my day job as a test engineer, like a year ago, with a house and a bunch of other stupid ass bills but I burnt out on getting up and working for a company that sells a bunch of bullshit so I quit. Well, I got fired. Probably because I quit giving a shit. I like what I do now a whole lot more. I'm watching tv right now, actually. The Hitman's Bodyguard. It's pretty good.
>>767697810 >i'm under paid and over worked you should probably quit. I was under worked and overpaid and quit my job because fuck working for people. I'm now a freelance photographer. There's no real money in it unless I hustle like I did for the job I left, but I feel better. You can't put a price on your happiness, man.
Studying computer science/engineering but I’ve been working this weekend job in hazardous waste disposal. Not as fancy as it sounds I essentially sort chemicals (paints, fuels, oils, occasionally interesting shit like mercury or asbestos) into bins. Pays really nicely since I’m a casual and it’s always weekend overtime ($47 hourly, Ausfag money so a bit less than your Ameribucks).
I was making $30/hr as a Senior Web Developer in a start up agency. The agency was ran by a skitzo CEO who hired his stupid step daughter that fucked everything up and they started outsourcing to India. They lost every client they had that was handled by India and I was canned to save money.
Now, I earn what I can and do odd freelancing jobs. I just want to earn enough to get out of this small town so I can get my foot in the door again.
>>767700292 lol NFW. Expensive? Yes. Insanely so. Fun? not a chance its the suburbs filled with Pajeets and traffic.
If you said SF, then we would be talking about fun. Fremont? Santa Clara? Mountain View? Nice places but sure as shit not fun. The Dave & Busters in Milpitas is the highlight of the whole fucking Valley.
Unix Sysadmin for a small startup, roughly 30 people. Mostly provision AWS infrastructure Bretty comfy, underpaid at 80k/yr for my location but it's a near effortless job. Especially considering I'm still taking classes on the side for my Masters in CS.
>>767700484 Christ I've been there. I was forced into a position a few jobs back that required me to Skype with several teams of Indian workers daily. I've never in my life met people with a worse work ethic than Indians. I would have people send me messages like "my friend sad i have no come in work today" or "i bored no want to work" between the non-stop spam of "HELLO SIR?" "WORK SIR?!" messages in the early AM.
>>767700693 Simply put: I was the jack of all trades. I had to do every thing and if the CEO wanted some random feature added to a site the client never asked for, looks like I get to learn a new language today. I just wanted to do server side development and focus on JS/PHP. That's all I wanted. Instead, I had to fuck around with WordPress all day and deal with shitty hosts who didn't give you access to phpmyadmin.
>>767701005 I applied to Pizza Hut years ago. Some lady with a clipboard and a thick mustache interviewed me. She said I was only looking for a paycheck and wasn't serious about the Pizza Hut brand, so I didn't get hired.
>>767693306 Small nonprofit for at-risk kids, providing a shit ton of different services to about 500 kids and their families. Stressful as hell, 60-70hour weeks year round, 100 hour weeks during our upcoming camp season. Everyone I know gets drawn in by how much we love what we do and then it absolutely destroys us over a 3-5 year period. Nobody I know has stayed on longer than 5 years. It feels like you throw every ounce of faith in humanity into the job and desperately try not to let all of the fucking shitbag families and bullshit unfairness of the world take it away. Still, there is nothing better than watching one of your kids graduate or get accepted to a fancy summer program.
>>767701169 No Idea. Our ingredients aren't at all expensive, and lord knows it isn't going into my $7.40 per hour paycheck. If I had to guess, the company artificially inflates the price to make it seem like more of a luxury.
>>767701243 Every shitty paying job has that one person who takes it way too seriously. I worked at a local restaurant and some dickhead with gloves on 24/7 would go around every shift checking the bottom of the fryers that sat on the floor. If they were dirty, we'd get a write up. I got yelled at one shift because a sandwich I'd never made before took longer than a minute to make.
>>767701314 Oh right. Basically people load boxes of anything you can't put into your normal bin into their car, I unload their shit, then I sort that shit by category. Besides that not much, I help unload and pack trucks and coordinate the traffic and forklifts but the chemical sorting is my job there.
I make $11/hr and I have no fucking clue how people live. I can barely afford rent/food every month and I eat light. Co-workers somehow drive decent cars, have nice TVs and a lot of them have kids. Fucking how?
>Credit card I've tried applying for credit but no one will give me credit due to a lack of credit history.
I'm so baffled by this. How the hell do people live on $440 a week, minus 15% of it.
>>767701655 >Fuck Pajeets they are an inhuman blob of shit. Truer words have never been spoken. They're desperate for work when they work for you but when you're at their mercy, they're the rudest people you could ever meet. I would literally get work submitted that was copied from Wikipedia with the sources still in the article.
>>767701666 its a part time job not a career. the point is that you are supposed to find something better for yourself. Enough of this mentality that every job should pay a middle class income mentality.
Dont do the CC bullshit. focus on getting out of the pool instead of treading water your whole life.
Postmates driver in LA, I make like 15-20 bucks an hour and work when I'm bored/not in class. If you decide to do it use this code (or a Postmates you know's code) so we both get an extra 75 bucks: Hey! Become a Postmate and you could qualify for a promotion that guarantees you will make at least $400 for your first 55 deliveries in Los Angeles. Use code FL-cce6 or here is a link: https://pmfleet.app.link/JsfSw1r9EM
essentially data entry, 20/hr. I hate it but it's okay when you can turn your brain off and daydream all day. been thinking I should just dedicate the next 3 months to grinding side gigs and hustling. Made some calculations based on shit I already do, if I go full speed on it plus the job I can have 20k cash saved after 3 months. But it will be 6 hours of sleep a day no freetime level hell.
>>767702686 there is almost never anything weird, but there was a guy who lives in 2 broc terrace and he was a 40 year old gay guy is also fat, when I delivered food to him he would walk out with a thong on and when the transaction was over he would put his pants back up, saw him do it through a window, he did that 4-6 times, eventually he moved out of the house, but that 2 broc terrace guy what a fucking wierdo he was, would always spray antiseptic on my hands after he gave me his money, fun fact he also tried giving me a 20$ gift card towards men underwear magazine or some shit (i refused)
Physical therapist 40/hr Teach people with strokes and brain injuries how to walk again. Active job new patients every two weeks in my unit. Hot nurses, live at home stacking money because rent is retardedly highin LA. I'm 27 working on 2 years as a PT.
