A lot of places add pineapple in a shitty way. Pineapple is a relatively dense and fibrous fruit that retains a lot of its juice. Placing very large pieces on a pizza or covering the entire pie might win you points for presentation, but it can result in bites which are almost entirely pineapple and thus overpower the rest of the flavor pallet. The solution of course is to cut the pineapple into appropriately small chunks and apply it conservatively.
