anyways I don't know what they teach you in your american schools, but the korean conflict has always been primarily between North Korea and South Korea
The current President of South Korea promised in his election campaign to seek peace with the North, and he did. It all changed when the South invited the North to join the Olympics, they accepted and have had an increasingly better relationship since then, and when this started to happen, the Trump administration warned the South that this was a big mistake and that they were beeing tricked of some sorts
However the South continued with their efforts
Now things are better then ever, and Trump ofcourse jumped on the train as to not look like the bad guy

This is simply not true. Trump was given some of the credit. And the SK president suggested Trump should be nominated for a peace prize for using the heavy hand of the US military to muscle Kim into making a final decision. At the end of the day it was more of the Asian nations that should be given most of the credit, especially China, they were the first to turn their backs on them and tell them to fuck off when they went completely bonkers and started making nukes and shit.
