I own a sony phone right now, bought it because sony is well known as music company and i wanted to listen to music. guess what broke first? the headphone jack. happened to my last sony, too, but i was stupid enough to belive in bad luck. not recommended.

Considering that the S8's/S9's/Note 8 smash the specs of the XZ2, are lighter with more features, you are clearly jaded. It would be better to get something with stock android than anything Sony. There are usually a reason why the major flagship phones are popular, but there are plenty of budget options better than the XZ2.

I deal with phone retards every day and I tell everyone the same thing - They all do the same things with a different name and skin on. Samsung is literally the 'other' sheep brand that people buy to feel superior but you're paying for the brand name only. You can get phones half the price that do literally the same thing. They sell on popularity, not what the can do.
Our colleague shelled out £850 odd on a note 8 and then we got an XZ we were selling for £200 and he was like ... shit. Sure the Note 8 is better, but not £650 better, what it does doesn't absolutely blow any other high end phone away.

I know your pain op, I still use a moto x pure and I think it may be the best phone I will have ever had the chance to own. Been going strong for 3 years now and still blows everything out of the water in the areas that are important to me. Best stereo speakers I have used, stock android except for a couple really great features, open to rooting, really great screen (amoled a SHIT), looks the part for quality well built device, headphone jack built in, great camera, shit I'm probably forgetting more. I'm really getting sad that I have to move on soon
