My laptop is more powerful than a lot of battlestations, and I move around quite a bit. When I'm just chillin in the house and want to do some serious gaming I've got a higher refresh rate monitor to hook it up to, but most of the time it does everything I want it to without it. Only thing I use often is a bluetooth sound system and a logitech g502.

Small pc builds are stupid fucking expensive. Why do a stupid ass custom ITX build when you can just buy a laptop at the same price and specs with an even smaller form factor? I have an 800 dollar desktop I built 5 years ago but if I would not rebuild today. Every piece of this computer (ram, mobo,cpu,gpu) has gone up at at least 25% in price. Laptops are a great value where you can drop a grand and have a very easy to transport monster of a pc (6th/7th gen i5, gtx 1060 6gb).
