This new trilogy is actually an accurate commentary on the current political direction of society. The ageing white man (Luke) has had his day and it's time for the women and minorities to shine. Rey brings him the lightsaber (symbolising everything he previously built and worked for and accomplished) and he just throws it away because it's no longer relevant. He's had his time in the sun and now he's going off to die. Meanwhile Rey becomes supermegajedi without any training or knowledge (symbolising the unearned privileges afforded to modern women by feminism). Oh and Han Solo got cucked cos his son is clearly half-Hispanic.
