Apparently, according to the latest report on this particular type of collapse. The entire structure was already collapsed from the inside since the fire that came from plane debris that hit the building had already made the support central column come down.

The controlled demolition that brought down tower 1 and 2 was done with thermite, which was also in tower 7. The plane that was supposed to hit tower 7, flight 93, was taken down by it's passengers so it could not hit it's target. The jet fuel from the planes that hit 1 and 2 was enough to set the thermite off rather quickly, but tower 7 had to burn all day before it started lighting off. This is why they left a barely damaged building to slowly smolder 10 hours plus after the event without lifting a finger.
