Why do I always feel self-loathing and guilt after drinking?
I always feel like topping myself for days afterwards.
>>767371632
Drinking what? I always feel like topping myself and i drink on average 5-7 beers a night so i cant really relate. But when i had a healthier lifestyle i would drink very seldom and would never get that effect. Was any of your parents alcoholics? could explain it.
>>767372114
Nope non of my parents drank at all.
and usually cider.
>>767371632
Everyone feels like this after drinking.
>>767372986
Cider is well known for its terrible hangovers, i suggest switching to a low carb beer. It may be a mental thing and if so either seek help or stop drinking and find another crutch.
>>767371632
same if i had too much, the next day(s) are horrible. guilt for idunnowhat
>>767373044
Nope
>>767373044
no i can justify and accept my uselessness after drinking, unlike pot where i believe im not
>>767373298
yeah, i dont really go by halfs, I'm either not drinking or blasting 20 shots, no in between
>>767373174
yeah, maybe, I do have like a reality dissociation disorder, so I probably just come back down to earth when I'm hungover.
>>767371632
Quit before it becomes a problem. You're too young to be an alcoholic
>>767374074
I keep trying, but when i get it in my head that I can go drinking, it fucking grinds at me, if I buy new clothes or go somewhere, or anything, I need to go drinking for some reason...
>>767374180
I'm no fan of AA -- tried it, wasn't for me -- but it works for a lot of people.
Instead of drinking, get addicted to a vidya, or go for a run, or take up fly tying, or just jerk off a lot.
>>767374074
This. I’m in rehab rn
>>767374276
Just walked out of big book study to take a shit
>shitting
>>767374276
I went in 14 years ago, when my wife told me she was pregnant. Checked in at .31 -- almost 4X the legal limit -- and was stone cold sober.
Drying out is the worst thing in the world, but it was worth it.
>>767374241
It's pretty hard though, I am a doorman, so I'm constantly surrounded by alcohol. I need to find a hobby i guess.
>>767374377
Amen. I’m a benzo/heroin addict and alcoholic.
Been coming to b since 14 I think
24 now
>>767371632
Depression. If you are predisposed, alcohol is going to give you some dark days. I used to drink daily, and now I rarely do. It made a huge difference.
>>767371632
Man, it's like alcohol is a depressant or something.
>>767374505
>constantly surrounded by alcohol
You're gonna want to change that. At least until you've been sober a while. I was in the restaurant business when my addiction began. It's very common.
But I've also known quite a few long-term recovering alcoholics who did just fine in the business.
>>767374568
wrong. type. of. depressant. fucktard.
>>767374650
i guess I'll try while working and if It goes tits up, I'll have to leave.
>>767374695
"Alcohol is a depressant, which means it can disrupt that balance, affecting our thoughts, feelings and actions – and sometimes our long-term mental health. This is partly down to ‘neurotransmitters’, chemicals that help to transmit signals from one nerve (or neuron) in the brain to another."
>>767374753
Quitting is hard. Very. Realizing that you have a tendency to addiction is also hard. It's humiliating in a way, to see your friends and others drinking, having fun without any issues, while knowing that you can't do it that way.
Again, I'm not a huge fan of AA, but their focus on self-reflection is, I think, the key to sobriety.
Post inebriated anxiety if you're a posh cunt, grog horrors if you're not. Didn't start getting it until the last year or so but it's pretty shithouse

Can anyone translate from Scottish to human?
>>767375391
Its pretty easy to read to be honest. Maybe you are just retarded
>>767376130
>Maybe you are just retarded
Entirely possible. Hell, I am on the chon. But my point is still valid. What the fuck does any of that shit mean?
>>767374897
It doesnt make you "depressed" dipshit. It depressess your brain activity. The opposite to a stimulant which heightens it.
Are you pissed right now?
>>767376222
No just laughing at you.
>affects long term mental health
Are you that retarded? Alcohol can literally give people depression, anxiety, etc. Please go back to school friendo.
>>767376220
I honestly don't know how to re-word it. It was pretty self explanitory.
The only word i can see being an issue is "shithouse" which, in the context it was used, obviously meant shit.
(Btw i am not the poster, and I got it. Hense why i think you have learning difficulties)
>>767376350
I beg you are baiting.
Cocaine can affect long term mental health. But thats not a depressant.
Anti-depressants affect long term mental health. They are litterally the oppisite....
Stubbing your toe every day 5 times a day can affect your mental health. And while that is depressing af. Its not a deppressant.
I think maybe you should go back to school...
