What the fuck is causing this? It's not 4chan either because it was doing this before that. I usually have facebook open when it's doing this but I almost always have facebook open so I can't be sure it's related to that.

Don't worry brah I found a better version but it's still pixelly, apparently the pic is like 9+ years old so that makes sense.

As for your computer, you're gonna wanna visit https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/ and download that tool (RKILL). If you don't trust me you can do some research, basically it stops running malware services/processes and lists them. From there we can give you better advice
>>
>>767311380

Stop bitmining traps on your computer.
>>
>>767312350
Please get back to me and let me know your results after RKILL
>>767311472
It's part of Windows, when you open and close firefox or other apps like chrome it sometimes just starts a new process instead of reusing or killing the old one.
Any reason you're running 32 Bit steam, 32 Bit java, and 32 Bit Discord? Your computer is 64 Bit
>>
>>767311472
Just saw the CPU and memory use on that first Firefox instance. I think you're infected with some new-age virus, nowadays what they'll do is run a 1 x 1 single pixel iframe to keep the process open and use your computer for whatever (in this case I'm guessing crypto mining, probaly XMR)
right click firefox > end process tree > try using chrome and see if it still fucks with your CPU. If it doesn't, you've established something is infected with firefox specifically. If this is the case, aside from RKILL try running ADWcleaner
https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/
>>
>>767311380
Theres a bit of malware called system 32 that causes cpu overload like this, do a search to see if you have it. If so just delete it and should be fixed.

lmfao. Dude, I actually know how to use task manager, do you think I am THAT computer illiterate?

Anyway my dudes, here's the thing
>>
What anti-virus software do you use? Run a full scan, if it doenst find anything download another one, delete the old antivirus and run a scan on that one. 2 AV at the same time may clash
>>
>>767313268
Lol ok dude, enjoy your CPU overload.

Okay, so good news is that you're not infected with malware, bad news is that we have to continue guessing the problem.
Your CPU use leads me to believe you're suffering from a "pop-under"
> If your CPU usage doesn't drop, it could also be the case that your computer has been infected with malicious software that is mining your computer in the background or you could have fallen victim to a "pop-under" window.
>Anti-malware software Malwarebytes warned of this back in November. >Instead of running within the browser tab you already have open, a new window with the JavaScript is opened, but it's sized to fit and hide behind the clock in the Windows taskbar.

https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-stop-sites-from-using-your-cpu-to-mine-coins/

So try this bad boy and let me know if your CPU usage stops being crazy

>do you think I am THAT computer illiterate
>couldn't block out host file entries
Well, you're still computer illiterate.
>>
>>767313915
I get what you're saying but wouldn't the fact that he's trying to block the host file entries at all point to computer illiteracy in the first place? Like yeah block that loopback so I don't hax ur IP

But on a serious note did you come here to waste time shittalking or did you have any actual advice for our man?
>>
>>767313915
I am, but you're socially illiterate. I obviously did this as a joke because this is 4chan, no one gives a shit that I'm running illegal copies of photoshop and windows, and even if they do, bitch come find me.

>>767313711
now it's this but that's pretty standard whenever it's being weird. I don't think this is normal for just having firefox notepad and paint doing basically nothing, I do have 2 facebook tabs open.
>>
>>767314211
>>767313711
what the fuck, I swear I uploaded that pic. hang on a sec
>>
>>767314211
Where did you get your pirate copy of windows? It may have come with some kind of coin miner or botnet pre-installed.

You're correct, this is not normal for just having firefox, notepad, and paint open with a few facebook tabs. The signs are pointing to the possibility that someone else is using your computer's resources for their own gain; your CPU use should not be that erratic or that high unless you're mining crypto.

Probably some crashed or broken thread on a process within Firefox. If it's a constant 25%, then it's a single threaded process that's just jumping between processors. Could even be a page using your processor for some crypto mining.

Use a different browser. Chrome has a task manager of its own to help track down these things.
>>
>>767314474
It's not super likely that my pirated windows is running a crypto-miner cause I've had it since 2011, and besides that being less of a big deal back then, it never did this before.
>>
Disconnect from the internet. Does anything change?
>>
>>767314062
He's still somewhat computer illiterate for not knowing how to use the computer to block out the host file entries, yes. The fact that he's trying to block the host file entries at all doesn't point to computer illiteracy. It points to some idea of familiarity with computers and host files and possibly pirated software. But the fact that it wasn't done properly points to computer illiteracy. He made a .jpg and used image editing software to cross out the part he didn't want anyone to look at, instead of making a big box.

I came here to waste time and shitpost because it's clear that the advice and solutions being given are working in some capacity. I didn't come here to fix a computer.

>>767314211
>socially illiterate
Having to explain your joke makes it a bad joke, Sam.
>>
>>767314601
>I've had it since 2011

Maybe you just have a shit PC
>>
>>767314484
I think erratic CPU usage like that is normal for having multiple processes/websites open, as long as it's not hitting 60-100% like it was earlier.

My suggestion would be to do a fresh reinstall of windows at your convenience; it seems like the problem is gone now but we don't know when it might come back or what side effects it might bring with it. I would stop using that computer to access private stuff like banking, I would assume that computer is being keylogged (just to err on the side of safety/caution)

He didn't have to explain his joke until your autistic ass missed his social ques. Good luck living life with Aspergers, I hear there are lots of youtube resources now-a-days for people like you to learn how to fit in :^)

They're literally the joke. It's fucking obvious that no one is going to not look at something just because I said not to. And on top of that I put a big red x over it that didn't actually cover anything.
>>
>>767315042
Sure, partner!
As you said yourself, our man crossed out the information unsuccessfully when he could have simply boxed it out with the same effort. Aside from crossing it out badly, he wrote "don't look at this" next to it which would lead a normal person to see he's combined two purposeful "fuck-ups" to incite humor. Similar to sarcasm, like when people say "plz no bully" at the end of their post.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you, I hope you have a good day!

I'm not that guy, I'm OP, but this being 4chan, I have no idea how to interpret this kind of post. You seem to be a genuinely nice person, but like I said, this is 4chan.
>>
>>767315514
If you want to call me autistic, that's fine. I might be autistic for wanting to help you understand and going into such great detail. Sorry if I came off like I was saying "you're still retarded" or made you feel bad.

I don't think you understood my reply.
>>
>>767315514
Not really. You apparently didn't get the joke or pretended not to. I took you at your word and explained that it was a joke, and you said it was a bad joke because I had to explain it. Then nicebro said most people would have gotten it and you're just autistic. But the "you're still retarded" line actually made me laugh, gj
>>
>>767316028
>pretended not to
There we go.

Maybe your HDD is dying. Very similar thing happened to me too.

too late here to explain computer architecture. check it out online OP, run a hdd test.

is your hdd making weird noises?

Honestly, this. I've had a similar problem once. If you're quick enough you might still try to get it back on track by using a preferrably strong magnet over it in circles (pc should be booted off for that, though)
