The first half of the first season can be a bit of a struggle as it's trying to introduce all the people and all the cop and crime hierarchies. But stick with it, it is definitely worth it.

Dark. It's a Netflix Original filmed in Germany, so the actors speak German. They dubbed over them with English VAs and they do a decent job, but it can look/sound a bit funky sometimes. If you can get past that, you'll see it's a very well-written show. Excellent cinematography and acting.

Just finished re-watching. Pound for pound, it's some of the greatest, most convincing acting I've seen. Very interesting characters, and the creativity with Augustus Hill's narration lead to an amazing story line at times.
However, some of said story lines are also hot garbage. The Aging Pills, the never ending love story between Beecher and Keller, the Chinese refugees. just ridiculous. Those who might be interested should give seasons 1-4 a shot, and if they're really dedicated after that, wrap it up. Be warned however, it does get batshit in not the best way.

Underrated show. Not god tier, but quite good.
Overall, the people are just fucking awful. And the women are, like real women, total whores that are just evil and don't really give a shit about the men in their lives. They aren't movie/TV star pretty, either. They even let one actress get really fucking fat. It's not jerk off material, but is sorta refreshing and gives the whole thing a whiff of realism.
It has some "heartbreaking" moments. Maybe that's a bit of an embellishment, but I'm also mostly emotionally dead, so I'm trying to be relatable here.
