This is why I straight up do not tell people that I am homosexual.
It's mostly to avoid greater judgement beyond "Hey, [name] why don't you tell us anything about your relationships?" and "You never tell us anything about who you're with". Relationships stay between me and the person I am in a relationship with generally, especially the "juicy" details that people like to pry about, this is the #1 way to avoid drama and judgement. The fact is, when I've told people that I am gay in the past their whole perception of me changes from "[name]" to "the gay". Never-mind all of the hobbies, skills, interests and the career I am pursuing and make effort to pre-face above all else, any question that comes after telling people that I am gay is only pertaining to the fact that I am gay when I put a tremendous amount of effort into not just being another fag.
It makes me wonder how far the "LGBT" community and gay men can go to make it impossible to be openly homosexual.
I see it as being as unimportant as my eye color, but doesn't change the fact that it is the only thing people want to talk about after learning that I have a male partner.
Place is full of hypocrites, especially these trendy social justice pushing types when I was studying in uni, just looking for token friends in different demographics.
