Also, opening a JPG and editing it, then resaving it will cause it to degrade (photo will get blurred slowly) every single time you do so unless you edit the original RAW file each time and output it to a JPG. A PNG does not have that problem. A JPG can be useful for large wallpapers or extremely large images, but they suck ass for a lot of reasons too.
