This one's nostalgia for me not because I used to have them as a kid, but because my son did, and he fucking loved those things, and always wanted me to play trains with him, for hours, and he would be so happy.
He's 17 now, and we haven't played trains in quite some time. I doubt we ever will again, but I saved all that stuff in the hopes that maybe someday he'll have a son of his own to play trains with, and maybe sometimes grandpa will get to play, too.

If it wasn't brutally difficult and full of cheap deaths, I'd say it'd be at least equal to it. It was one of the first games to have a story that played out in the actual game, with cutscenes, instead of just giving you a couple paragraphs in the manual like most games back then did.
