I'm with you for people who get handed stuff thinking it's easy being annoying. Sometimes I think it is impossible to get somewhere though. Like, I tried to kill myself once, and I didn't get through it on gumption alone or whatever. I wasn't able to because of chance, and that's how I ended up getting help. I think it's pure chance I'm alive today, so if I killed myself I really don't think I'd have been to blame, my brain was literally working against me, and I needed to take medication to correct that. Overall too, I just don't think my judgement on anyone makes any damn difference. Whether it's easy, or hard, or impossible, or whatever, helping helps, so I just do that, and I'm not sure why I should do otherwise.

I'm glad you have a better attitude about things now, and if being around people how have that attitude is a common occurrence and you struggled with that yourself, it makes perfect sense that would bother you I think.
I'm not sure if people think of the help I do as "worthwhile". I like talking to people, and helping them work through things in their life, but I haven't had a job for a few months. While I do want a job, it hasn't been at the forefront of my mind I suppose. Maybe that makes me a leech on my parents or whatever, I know some people have opinions on me like that. I've seen too many people confuse "they just don't want it" people with "diagnosable mental illness" people to trust myself to do it, so I just do what I can.
